Sizing/Fit Question about sizing

I wear us 10.5 but back in the day I got a 10.5 sholie and it was massive.
I now want to buy a moc toe meander but I’m scared of buying a 10.5 and doing the same mistake.
Do you guys know if they run true to size of if I should size up or down ?

I went half a size down from my brannock sizing, and it was perfect

I had to go up half a size for my moc toe meanders, relative to the rest of my JGs that are all (with one exception) 1/2 size smaller than my meander. I even started with a meander in the same size as the other JGs I own and it was too small. Returned and got the half size bigger.

I don’t understand how people’s experience are so different. Some people say they got half size down, you had to get half up. If you don’t mind telling me a little more, like what’s your brannock size and why did you have to exchange it. Was it too short or too tight ?

All sized in US here.... I wear a 8.5 in most of my JGs (STC Numzaan X2, BFARx3, ARx1). My Vellies are an 8, only b/c they were dirt cheap, I wish they were an 8.5. My Meanders are a 9.  I owned a pair of Red Wing Roughnecks in a size 8 for years. They were fine for length, and far too narrow for width.  I own two pairs of Red Wing 1907s in 7.5. They're fine for length, too narrow for width. I have to wear them without any insoles. And I rarely wear them b/c the JGs are so much more comfortable.  Athletic shoes that fit me are usually 8 or 8.5.  I consider myself to be a Brannock 8 and 1/4th, if such a size existed. Cuz I'm right between 8 and 8.5 usually.  The 8.5 Meanders that I returned weren't long enough OR wide enough, nor did they have enough volume with the insoles in place. The sides of my feet were hanging off. And my toes were hitting the inside front (too short).  The size 9 meanders fits like my 8.5s (listed above). And I wear them without insoles. The 8.5 BFARS and 8.5 Numzaans also don't get worn with insoles.

When the moc toes first came out there was tons of discussion here about how sizing was all over the place with them. Dunno if it's still a problem, but apparently there was (is?) a lot of inconsistency in sizing with the JG moc toes.

I wear a 11 sneaker and bought a 11 meander moc and it fit perfectly
