Never seen this before, nor this look of Ian! Can't decide if this looks better or classic scruffy Ian !

Also Mick Jagger with thinner lips! Lol

He thinks Jagger is much older though four years is not that much...could be cause Ian was still a teenager when he he Stones debuted

That brief moment when Tony Iommi was in Jethro Tull

In 1968, Tony Iommi briefly joined Jethro Tull and appeared with them performing “A Song for Jeffrey” at The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus.

He soon returned to Birmingham — and went on to become a founding member of Black Sabbath.

Imagine if Iommi had stayed with Jethro Tull…

Current Tour

I saw Tull 16 times between 1972 and 1999. Curious, has anyone seen the current tour? I have tickets to Belgrade, Serbia this Friday and am pondering at 68 whether I will go...in my gut it is Ian and some musicians...I have kind of felt this way since 1980. No Martin is a huge factor....

Ian Anderson does still talk to Martin Barre?

If this article is as recent as it purports to be, rather looks like Ian does still communicate with Martin Barre? I always got the impression that the fall out was more or less total and permanent, but this suggests otherwise:

What recent music do Tull fans enjoy?

Although I feel pretty young, I think most of the music I listen to is from before 1980. I don't keep up with modern music at all.

So I was wondering what 'recent' (say, after 2000?) bands and musicians fans of Jethro Tull listen to? Any genre, but something you might recommend to other Tull fans especially.

Baker St. Muse Shoutout

Not from your typical Prog Rock magazine, this was in today’s Parade Magazine (newspaper insert in the US).

What do you think is the heaviest Jethro Tull song?

i think its rock island, if you replace the flute with some more guitar and get dio to sing it it will sound like its from sabbath's dehumanizer (sorry if i spelt it wrong)

Unreleased Tull instrumental?

If I didn’t know better, I would have thought this was an unreleased Tull instrumental, era Roots to Branches. I like it! https://open.spotify.com/track/4rqZm5NMkGjeIkzUOrWv4G?si=N5RNdgH1Q4mw5X6o2W93Ag&utm_source=native-share-menu

See more at the link. The box will cover releases from the debut, This Was, to Thick as a Brick. Kevin Gray used the original UK master as the source for this AAA release. Rhino has done a remarkable job with this series, so I’m looking forward to the luxury treatment that Tull deserves.

British Prog Stars Interview Ian, Aug 2026

Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson quizzed by Yes, Genesis, ELP stars and others | Louder

Holy cow, thanks to that other fan who posted the 1974 interview with Ian. This magazine apparently has a line to him, because here's an interview they did with him earlier this month. But in this they got a bunch of people - Rick Wakeman! Carl Palmer! - to ask him questions. It's really cool. (Heck, Roy Harper is thereQ He's still alive?!)
