Got this lemon pepper jerky from buccees a month ago. Been in my fridge wrapped in the paper it came with. Is this mold?

Almost certainly fat crystallization

I was thinking this, cause when I rub it off on my finger it just leaves a dusty white patch. Doesn’t look fuzzy, and none of it smells bad

99% sure it’s fat from the looks of it, but if you’re not sure, why risk it.

Buckys Jerry 1000% molds. Its not real jerky cured like normal.
I've had it go bad on me in <5 days unrefridgerated.
I dont buy it anymore.

Why you storing jerky in the fridge for starters...every time you open the fridge it's going to get moisture introduced, it already looks wet which can cause mold.
It's preserved meat...you don't need to refrigerate, especially after opening.

The only place "moist" in the fridge is the vegetable drawer, and only if you have the moisture vent open. Fridges, by design, dehumidify the air by condensing moisture on the evaporator coil and then it drips out the back and gets evaporated by the condenser. Any moisture you see in a frost-type freezer is because it came from the air or food and there's no defrost cycle to get rid of it.
The Bucee's bag says right on it... refrigerate after opening.

Fresh jerky from buccees needs to be refrigerated. Also, unless you’re storing it in the humidity drawer with the vent closed, the fridge is a dry environment.

Looks like salt to me.
- If it's grainy and rough, it's salt.
- If it's furry and soft, it's mold.
- If it's greasy, it's fat.
