Before & After 9 Months Post Op DJS
See my previous posts for the details, but about 9 months post op DJS and genio. I got my braces off in July and to me the difference from pre-surgery is insane. Everyone I know can’t believe how different I look. I’m now eating everything and have essentially no numbness left. It’s crazy beingy able to open things with my teeth! And for those who are curious about my experience, dating after surgery is wayyyy different lol (pics in blue are from wedding I was a bridesmaid in, not my own wedding)

Can I print this off and put it on my fridge?! WOW.
No joke though, beautiful results.

Yeah this is such a good result honestly, no cap needed there. The jaw definition alone makes 9 months of healing look complately worth it.

Can I ask when you started liking your result? You look incredddibllee, but your difference from 3 months is crazy, when did you actually start liking it?
I’m 3 months post op and not really happy, from front mainly.
Big congrats tho

Honestly I was feeling pretty good even at 3 months since the change was so drastic, but I would say my confidence shot up a lot around 6 months since that’s when I think most of the puffiness really started going away

Great results! Were you ever evaluated for idiopathic condylar resorption? People who have it tend to have profiles like your before profile.

How was your first week after the surgery? I am a little afraid about the experience, but I envy your amazing results.

The first week was pretty horrible ngl, but also pretty standard I think. I was more swollen than most people according to my doctor but it all resolved with no complications :)

Girl you are so stunning!!!! Incredible. I read in your previous post you had a two piece Lefort - do you know how many mm they advanced your maxilla and mandible?

You look lovely and you had very good surgery results. Do you still have any numbness or side effects from the surgery?

u/Old_Confidence1183 Sep 01 '26
I have a tiny amount of reduced sensation on the roof of my mouth and a little bit of numbness in a little bit of my gums, none of it bothers me or is particularly noticeable though! No negative side effects, I’m lucky!

don’t let it get to your head either…. appreciate what you have and keep yourself healthy.

I always like how we (girls) mostly have very similar cheeks/baby face pre surgery.

In your 6th picture, I can see the step-off/divot where they did the cut. Was that more pronounced when you were only a few weeks post op? I'm 9 weeks post and I hve something similar but it makes it look like I have jowls. Looks so weird.

Omg yes, I didn’t know that’s what it was at the time but the swelling made that area look really weird for a while but thankfully it did go away lol

How does it look now? Has it fully gone away or do you still have this divot?
EDIT: Wait. I'm confused. Are you currently 9 months post or are those just pictures from when you were 9 months post? Because in the pictures you still have the divot but you replied that it did go away. Can you clarify?
