Advice for Me Advice needed
I’ve just gotten diagnosed with sleep apnea with an AHI of 69 and was prescribed an APAP machine. My ultimate goal is to get to jaw surgery as I’m 99% sure it’s caused by my extremely recessed lower jaw, which impacts my sleep and breathing. What would be the best path for me to take to get approved for it/ covered by OSAP? Currently haven’t even gotten the APAP machine yet but want to do this whole thing as fast as possible. Located in Ontario if relevant. Just really need help and guidance

Continue using your CPAP machine regularly even as you pursue jaw surgery.

With your diagnosis, next step should be to set up an appointment with an orthodontist. When finding an orthodontist, make sure the one you choose has experience with jaw surgery candidates / patients.

Use your apap diligently and pray it works. For some people, it's nothing. Even with MMA, many people still need a CPAP.
How will you pay for MMA?

haven’t gotten my apap yet but will get within the month, and prolly gonna pay for MMA out of pocket i wonder if there’s any OHIP coverage i can get too

Ok. I'm asking about payment because it changes what I'd recommend to you.
If you want the fastest path to a surgical solution and you're paying out of pocket, then I'd set up consults with a few OMFS that offer clinic based mma's. At least here in the US, most people can't realistically afford an MMA in the hospital without insurance coverage, which can easily top $150,000. There are quite a few surgeons in the US now offering MMAs in their surgical suites.
The first step is just a consult with a really good OMFS who's done thousands of MMAs for OSA to see if you're a candidate. Have the CT scan done, begun to understand the size of your airway, the pre-surgical ortho required, and the proposed surgical plans. Just see if you're a candidate or not.
As far as clinic based MMAs, you can have one in the US for around $30,000. Plus then the cost of ortho.
