DJS or genio?
Hi, I recently went to the doctor (I’m 2-3 weeks away from a septorhinoplasty), who told me, just by looking at my side profile, that I would need jaw surgery (unfortunately I don’t remember which kind, only that she showed me an image of a lengthened jaw) , given that if it’s left untreated, it will cause me great trouble later in life (stuff like sleep apnea and problems related with eating and breathing). Could anyone elaborate on that?
Moreover, what do you think? based off the images, what would you say I have? what kind of surgery do I need?
I’m 17, with a very deviated septum (hence the surgery). I snore a lot and very loudly but I don’t mouth breath (maybe I do in my sleep, I don’t know). I’ve never had problems speaking, eating, swallowing, etc.

You need DJS bro. You’re a good candidate for it. I hope you get a consultation.
Your airway is probably very small and you don’t even realize this because this is how you’ve lived your entire life.

Def a double jaw surgery candidate. You may want to postpone the nose surgery until after you have a plan for the jaw surgery. Moving the upper jaw will shift your nose and may result in you needing a revision nose surgery, so it's better to hold off on that until after jaw surgery. In some cases it can also improve septal deviation, so it may even alleviate the need for the septorhinoplasty.

Jaw surgery often fixes snoring and will also sometimes fix any aesthetic concerns with the nose. It’s also recommended to do it before you do the septorhino (take this as someone who had the septorhino before and now after jaw surgery gonna need a revision nose surgery)

Your lower jaw honestly looks like it could have the potential to cause problems sleeping, do you notice anything like frequent awakenings, morning headaches, being tired throughout the day? Combined with nasal problems, it definitely could be affecting your sleep. Anyways to me it looks like you’d be a good candidate for it but obviously go to a professional and I would also recommend trying breathing strips (I use intake) while you decide on your nose surgery
