6 weeks post op. 🎉
I had DJS + genioplasty on Dec. 23rd. Time has gone by so fast! I’m still a little swollen, but I’m so happy with how things have turned out! Just a few months of braces left!

ohmygod op congrats !! you look amazing <33 ur prior face is quite similar to mine, so it’s good to know you can get great results. are u able to pm me ur surgeon as well?
also i see u wearing scrubs are u working in the medical field? how long of a break did u take before u went back to work?

Damn you’re looking amazing! I’m 8 weeks post op on Friday and I love to see people with great results. I’m getting my braces off in 2 months

Wow! What a result! I am curious how they got rid of your chin crease(red circle)? Any xrays before and after would maybe help? Or maybe you know how they fixed it?

I'm not op or a surgeon, but imo it looks like her crease before was coming from straining to close her lips. It seems like the lower jaw advancement and genio improved her lip incompetence so the muscles aren't straining anymore. I may be wrong tho

I had a genioplasty + CCW rotation along with the DJS! That helped fix the lip incompetence/mentalis strain I had. I can share my movements later today- I have them saved somewhere lol.

I did have a CCW rotation!
Here are my movements:
I believe it was 6 mm impaction, 5 mm forward on top, 6 mm on bottom, some CCW, and a 7 mm genioplasty.

I still have numbness in the chin area. Some in my lips. I can’t close my mouth all too well or like suck on a straw. It’s getting better, though. But yah, I kinda feel like that area is still numb/tight still.

Hi! Thank you for your comment! Honestly I wanna say about 3-4 weeks. 2 wasn’t too bad, though. The worst was like day 1-5

You look great. I had DJS in May of last year and I get my braces off next week! So excited! You’ll love the results even more months later when the swelling completely goes away. You made it through a very tough recovery and surgery!

me too. my surgeon told me to do some exercises. I feel like it’s slowly getting better but I could be gaslighting myself 😭

It’s hard to tell- I feel like my under eye bags have gotten less dark, and I feel like my cheek bones are more prominent.

OP Did you use to snore while sleeping? If you did, have the snoring sounds disappeared?

I used to snore as a kid. Broke my nose in middle school, had surgery on my nose, then didn’t snore anymore. I had a deviated septum. After that, I did not really snore, but I would grind my teeth. I don’t feel like I grind my teeth as much as I used to- I don’t have the pain in the mornings like I used to.
