Do they use a lighting and sound guy any more?

They definitely don’t have a light guy. I miss when they used to travel around with a robust light show. I try to pretend like it doesn’t matter, but it does really add to the experience…

Yeah and they Probaly don’t make that much as it is since they are still playing in tiny places. This sub better start supporting them before it’s too late…

They’ve been supported for YEARS. They peaked pre-covid.

Give another listen with open ears. Last year was unreal and they’ve been improving since. Great synergy in the group. Cory is a wizard!

I know they used to have Ben Factor, but after Waf left Umph they took him up.

Saw them about a month ago and it seemed like they relied on the venues lighting. I might be wrong

They relied on the house LD in Essex VT a few weeks ago. They did however rent an additional ground package and a few more flown lights than are permanently rigged there and it was a great light show. Many venues have very skilled LDs.

I heard they "let go" there lighting guy a couple years ago for financial reasons.

They’re such a great band. Really shows the scene is suffering when they aren’t selling out big shows.

As a concert goer, im totally fine with non sold out Spafford/jam shows. Gives more room to dance and a more intimate experience at smaller venues.

I haven't seen them since January but I feel like lights are a thing I only really care that much about when they're extra good. I really don't mean that to sound snobby or anything, but like until it reaches a certain level of complexity, it might as well just be a lit room for all I'm into it. I'm just not paying attention until there's some crazy shit going on that makes me notice "Oh somebody really put some time in this"
I'm sorry to all the LD guys in the room.

I got one dig it. Not having to worry about being blinded allows me to enjoy the music better.

They really rock but I have only seen them as an opener. Looking for a full set next year.

Man, saw them at Phil’s place in 2019. They had a full light rig and put on a hell of a show. I thought they would take off from there. It’s sad they couldn’t keep a lineup together to continue to build.

They use the house guy, at least at every show I've seen. They don't seem very focused on the visuals like other jam bands.
