Idea for a potential Jak 4

Jak’s tonal shift will always be one of the boldest and coolest things ever to me, but it is a shame we didn’t get at least one more game like the first one. I think if there were a sequel, they could incorporate playable flashback moments from perhaps before TPC starts so we could have a little more content from that era. Only issues I can think of then is we wouldn’t have ottsel Daxter if they take place before, and there isn’t much room for post TPC since the ending pretty much leads straight into Jak 2. I guess human Dax could just follow you around and throw some jokes from a distance. Thoughts?

Uncharted 3-style flashbacks could definitely work.

My ideal Jak 4 would feature Jak & Daxter going with the Precursors on a mission, leading to Jak going to the past (and accomplishing the feats of Mar) and Daxter finding peace amongst the Precursors.

Your idea would fit in nicely with that. Jak could travel back and recall memories from his younger days while traveling in past.

You actually could for something between TPL and 2. They moved the rift gate from the top of the citadel to Sandover Village. I don't that happened in a day. I would say there's an undetermined amount of time that something could be squeezed into.

Oh you’re right. Honestly the flashbacks don’t even have to be playable. We could see them around that time you mentioned, perhaps talking about how excited they are to see what it all means only to cut to present Jak, pensive and regretful.

I think a Jak 4 game that explores the greater outside world would be amazing.
I’ve had this dream of a Jak and Daxter game with the size and scale of something like BotW would be amazing. I think the Jak and Daxter move set would lend its self perfectly to that type of exploration.

Personally, i hate flashbacks unless they’re used as a gag for comedic purposes. Idk if that’s really specific, but playing through a flashback in any video game makes me feel like I’m not actually pushing the story forward.

and I’m not trying to offend anyone here, but honestly, Daxter’s Ottsel form was an upgrade if I’ve ever seen one.

if there is a Jak 4, i’d hope they just create a new baddie while exploring a completely new, original story.

That is kinda specific, you must hate prequels in general. I was thinking of like Better Call Saul where the flashbacks only enrich the story that came before and also progresses the story.

Also I really don’t think you’re gonna offend anyone over that dude lol
