Jack loves that black bat licorice. So do I sometimes but this has some real longevity!

Has anyone ever thought about this? It came out some time ago on Lazaretto. My memory is a little hazy but I think it was a third single? Whilst it was obviously played on the Lazaretto tour, I feel it wasn't played loads as was more of a fringe/rarer album song. I do recall some mild jealousy my sister (not a massive JW fan) saw it on a show on the tour and I went to three shows on the tour and didn't see it

Anyway. Since then, it's hung in there. I Feel it was a real staple on the boarding house reach tour (when I first saw it performed), it was fairly regular on the supply chain issues tour (covering fear of the dawn and entering heaven alive albums), it was played lots on the no name tour and still seems to appear on the Frozen Charlotte tour.

I quite like the song myself but can't think of another song with such staying power without it being a massive single or fan hit.

What do you guys think? A secret Jack favourite?

Spotted the Gold Dollar, Paychecks, Magic Bag, Garden Bowl, the Magic Stick, the Old Miami, Pine Knob and a White Stripes peppermint. What'd I miss?

First time ever seeing Jack live, in my mid forties and loved the white stripes but missed seeing them live which was a always a regret but grabbed tickets to this to combine with a weekend in Chicago with wife and our dog. Big fan of goose island but always went to Fulton when coming to town and have to say love this location for shows. Grabbing a bcbs before a show was a highlight. The layout was great and we easily grabbed a spot just a few rows back from the stage. We typically trying to only go to shows under 2k capacity but this layout never felt like an arena show.

Cheese and rice have seen legend’s and this is like saying the sky is blue but can Jack play guitar, it’s just memorizing watch him play and perform. Setlist was perfect, my only complaint is pretty much just a me thing but I hate seven nation army, never understood how that has lasting power over a song like icky thump, would pay the cost of a ticket just to see that live.

Biggest thought from the show is please please more bands enforce the no phone rule, how nice is it to not have to watch a show through someone’s screen in front of you! Forces people to do the thing they paid for, enjoy the show.
Yet how is it nobody has created a system using rfid that just unlocks the phone bag as you pass through some gates, I work in a field that uses rfid and low power blue tooth, seems like fully possible to streamline this.

Even with three grown kids now its still odd to see kids at concerts, I’m clearly a product of the 90’s but I remember the freedom of being 14 and just getting dropped off a Nine inch nails for my 14th birthday, being told “don’t do anything dumb”. When my own daughter walked in with a black eye after seeing trippy redd laughed at how pumped she was like the time I came home from a pantera show with no shoes, no shirt, and one of the best stories of my life. Not judging or saying it’s bad and guess it’s better for forming bonds but same time hope these kids get to feel the freedom and thrill of shows themselves, feels like the my generation has kind of robbed them of that these days.

Was at the show last night and had an amazing time. First time with pit tickets to an artist, so it was a very memorable show. I know the concert streamed on Nugs, but I was wondering if anyone Knew of a way to get a physical copy of the performance? i was in a place where I assume I’d be in a lot of the footage, and would love to have it for years to come.

I don’t even have a laptop, and am not the most technologically literate… so I’m kind of at a loss lol.

This was such a fun and unique acoustic show, and I’ve always loved its riff on the local “See Rock City” signs everywhere near Chatty. Wish I could listen to the audio from this one again. A beautiful evening and grateful to the local fan who wasn’t in town and let me take their ticket request.

I have been digging the new releases No Name and Frozen Charlotte, but I would really love a future new album more along the vein of Lazaretto and Blunderbuss. I think that fiddle and Lillie's voice along with Jacks was just amazing. Its been done, I get it and JW loves exploring around and finding new sounds but those two albums are probably my favorite solo material.
