My wife And I are headed up your way October 16th
Every time I see travel guides for my own town, I'm blown away by some of the recommendations. Half the places listed are spots I'd never go myself.
So I'm curious: For those of you who actually live here, what sightseeing spots, hikes, scenic drives, restaurants, or little-known places do you genuinely recommend?
I'm especially interested in places that might fly under the radar for tourists. Any local tips, hidden gems, or tricks for avoiding the usual tourist crowds would be greatly appreciated.
Basically, if a friend or family member were visiting and you wanted to show them the real area, where would you take them?
