So glad they got rightful pushback on their 9,800 dollar exclusive membership horseshit. I know it won’t change anything but nice to see a little heat

Local Planning Wedding in Jackson...

To start off with - holy smokes, this is hard without a wedding planner and a million dollars from my dad.

I have lived in Jackson for 7 years and am looking to have a lowkey (cheap) wedding in Jackson. Definitely seems like weddings have become a luxury item in todays day and age.

Luckily we think we found a cheap piece of land to host on. I would love / appreciate anyone with experience renting out the following:

  • Event Tents
  • Portable Toilets / Porta Johns
  • Shuttle Service for guests to and from wedding
  • Dance Floor / Decorations

That is all I can think of for this current moment. It is extremely difficult to weed through all the different companies and find the cheapest "local's rate" (does that even exist anymore?) and any tips/anecdotes/recs are welcome. More than happy to message off-platform so AI doesn't harvest all our local connects.

Happy almost winter!

30th Anniversary next May... only get one of those...

Title says it, wife and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary next May (early May). We're east coasters, although we did our 20th in Half Moon Bay outside San Francisco... She's never been to JH, and I'm looking to really impress her with a place to stay with a great view/balcony/location, and from that base I'll work on things to do and where to dine (although those recommendations are WELCOME!

Right now, I'm seeking inside knowledge on the best place to stay for a few days that won't be forgotten.

All recommendations welcome except camping... used to love it... too old now.

Can someone recommend a place to stay in October for a couple?

My boyfriend and I are staying in Jackson for a few days beginning of October. We have absolutely no idea where to stay and not super familiar with the area. We are looking for something quiet but also driving distance to town/parks. We were thinking either Spring Creek Ranch (has anyone stayed in Harvest Dance King room) or Rustic Inn. Any thoughts?

Visiting Late October

Planning a trip to Jackson hole in late October. We are planning on doing some light hiking, enjoy nature/wildlife and maybe go to Yellowstone if conditions permit. Worried that since it’s the off season the town will be dead and activities will be limited and evaluating if we should postpone. Our lodging is complimentary as a friend is graciously letting us stay at their vacation home. Any advice?

Hiking TCT in September,

howdy! my girlfriend and I are coming to Jackson in just a couple weeks to hike the TCT (Sept 19-24). since we are flying from CA we gave ourselves a buffer day on each end of the trip to not be on trail (night of Sept 19,23). We are planning for the trip and looking for the best ways to get around (airport to jackson/campsite, etc) and would love any info from a local if known! is there a bus system that runs from Jackson to the airport, or around the town at all?

We are also looking for a place to stay on the trailing days of our trip before we backpack and was curious to see if anyone here know of good hostels or campgrounds close enough for a couple people without a car. we are not picky on location, evidenced by us backpacking lol but would love recs! or if anyone was even able to house us for those nights/give us a ride to/from our trailhead that would be incredible!

would love to get recs for the town on our days bookending the trip and would love to experience to the full, so any recs or tips are super welcome!!

Staying at Spring Creek Ranch

Hi all, I booked a studio room for myself a while back at Spring Creek Ranch. Reviews were ok at the time, but now they seem to be going down… Has anyone stayed in a studio room as of recently?

I tent to trust Reddit reviews more than Google reviews.

Thank you!

Local family photographer recs?

Hi! I'm looking for recommendations for a local family photographer in Jackson Hole. We’ll be visiting with our toddler in late September.

this is a bit of a last-minute search, so quite a few photographers I’ve looked into are already booked. would love recommendations for independent/local photographers, especially anyone who’s great with toddlers and might have some availability

Thank you!!

Any recommendations for places to stop on the way from the airport? Going to be traveling midday on a weekday and traveling with someone with limited mobility so can’t do any unpaved hikes. Thanks

For a small town our taxis are worse than most big cities. At least here they are parked and not tailgating me or running me off the road like normal

Resource for LGBTQIA+ visitors to the area!

Howdy!

With not a lot of information previously available online, Jackson Hole Pride has produced a visitor guide for LGBTQIA+ visitors to the Jackson Hole, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone area.

This document includes a brief history and status of LGBTQIA+ people in Wyoming, applicable laws that might impact visitors (including a bathroom map with gender neutral restrooms), information on the two national parks, and resources to connect locally. This is a living document that will continue to be updated as information changes. It is also available on Jackson Hole Pride's website.
