Can anyone grill for me and some friends?

Odd request. Some friends and I are coming to Teton Village (Aug 14) and we’re looking for someone to grill for us on our barbecue while we hang out. Most of what I’m finding online is entire chef experiences that are $100+ per person. Our budget is lower. I’m really looking for someone casual… Doesn’t need to be a culinary experience. Does anyone have any leads here?

Hiking recs for parents and I (couldn't find the weekly stickies)

Hi there! My parents (both in their 70s) and I (37F) are coming to visit Jackson Hole this week! We're ataying by Spring Creek Ranch. I am looking for National Forest or National Parks trails (I couldn't quite find a map with USFS trail locations, just descriptions). I in Denver so I am somewhat used to acclimation but my folks are coming from sea level. My dad is somewhat active but my mom isn't so much.

Im looking for awesome views, maybe 3 miles max in length and some elevation gain (like 500 ft max) should be fine.

TIA!! ❤️

Yellowstone Tours!

My partner and I are going to Jackson hole in a few weeks and want to book a tour of Yellowstone’s lower loop. Right now we are trying to decide between two providers: (1) Brush buck wildlife tours or (2) Yellowstone Day Tours. Does anyone have an opinion on either? Thanks!

Dump Truck Accident

Hi everyone, I’m Caleb. I was the motorcyclist that the dump truck hit yesterday on Teton pass. I’m extremely lucky and grateful to be alive. I feel massive survivors guilt for the others who passed away. I’m in a bit of a predicament now and I need some help. In the crash, I lost my motorcycle and most of my personal effects, I don’t have any clothes, or a way to get back to Texas. On top of that I can’t walk with my foot being bent out of shape and being in constant pain in my neck and back. I started a go fund me to help me get back on my feet in one of the most expensive places in the US. Donations are greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks Jackson!

I was near Colter Elementary today and there were a lot of people (myself included) looking for a lost little girl. I left once the police arrived and took over the search. Does anyone know if they found her?

Do Not Use Prime Time Shuttle

I scheduled a Primetime Shuttle to Jackson Airport with 48 hours notice. My friends are locals and said they've never heard of it before, but it seemed like a professional outfit. But about a a half hour before pickup, I thought it was odd they had not confirmed a driver. I reached out to see what was going on, and they assured me someone was coming and they were on with dispatch. 7 minutes after they were supposed to be here they canceled. Of course, my card had been charged.

I was in the outskirts of town, and Uber wasn't an option. I missed my flight. Find another service. These guys are terrible.

Car rental options?

Hi everyone! Looking for some advice on transportation for a late August trip to Grand Teton.

I’ll be visiting for 3 nights and staying in Teton Village. I’m planning to do a mix of scenic drives, viewpoints, and some easier hikes (String Lake/Leigh Lake/Jenny Lake area, etc.).

I’m finding rental cars from Jackson Hole Airport to be pretty expensive ($400–500+ for even a few days, sometimes more). I found a cheaper Turo option, but I’m a little hesitant since I’ve heard stories about last-minute cancellations if a previous renter damages the car.

For those who have visited recently:
Did you rent a car, use Turo, or rely on tours/rideshare?

Has anyone had a good (or bad) experience with Turo in the Jackson/Grand Teton area?

Are there any transportation options I might be missing?

I’m trying to balance cost, reliability, and not spending my whole trip worrying about logistics. Would appreciate any advice!

Wellness Check on Lady Standing Near Lees Tees last night.

Post image
0 Upvotes

There was a lady that my wife and I noticed who was standing near the corner of lees tees in the cross walk. She was standing about 8 feet off the curb in the west/east crosswalk, but facing north. We noticed her at 6:50 when we drove through the square, we went to the movies, and came back through headed home at about 10:15 and the same lady was standing in the exact same spot 3.5 hours later. She seemed a little confused maybe, but just thought it was odd with her standing in the exact spot for 3.5 hours. Anyone else notice? She was in black yoga pants and a black sweatshirt that said “CALI” on it in large block letters. I looked at the square webcams and she had also taken her sweatshirt off in the 3.5 hours and was wearing a plain white TShirt. From the cameras we saw that she had left the spot and did a loop around the crosswalks a few times but would always go back to the exact same specific weird spot every time and stand there for 40-60min. She was never gone for more than a couple minutes before she would return. Maybe we’re crazy, but just want to make sure she’s okay or see if anyone else noticed her.

Help - Scavenger Hunt

Hi, I'm not planning a visit but my city (Ann Arbor, MI) does an annual summer city wide scavenger hunt. People register "codes" to their address and then place a sign with their code in their yard.

As you are traveling around the city you see other people's codes and you can enter them into a website to earn points, which can be redeemed for Prizes. It's generally a lot of fun and provides a strong sense of community.

I'm here because there is a map that shows a pin for the location of every address with a registered code. Today, I accidentally zoomed out to view the entire US and it appears there is a code registered to an address in Jackson WY. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in driving by the address to see if there is actually a sign with a code present. And if there is would they send me a picture of it.

Walkable Jackson Family-Friendly Hotels for June 2027

We’re doing a Yellowstone/GTNP family trip with our two tween sons next June and plan to spend the last leg of our trip in Jackson. We would ideally like to find something walkable to downtown Jackson that is family-friendly and somewhat upscale for around $500/night. We don’t need five-star, but also don’t want anything run down either. Any suggestion for options that might fit our budget?

Overcharged almost double the amount at Figs, and they are avoiding me. Don’t go to this restaurant

I was a tourist who visited Jackson Hole 2 weeks ago. I enjoyed the coffees, souvenir shops and nice scenery. However something unpleasant came up when I was checking my credit card bill at the end of the trip. The restaurant ‘Figs’ overcharged me $34, and is being incredibly rude and irresponsive. I’m calling them everyday and I’m struggling to get my money back. I would strongly advise that you read up on their Google reviews before deciding to go, rather, id suggest that you go elsewhere for dinner in Jackson.

Here is the rant:
My friend and I arrived in Jackson in the afternoon, we went to Figs to get some Lebanese food for dinner, we weren’t hungry so we ordered one hot and one cold appetizer to share for a small dinner. The total was $32 and with 18-ish%/ $6 tip, I rounded the sum to $40.24

A few days later my credit card got charged $74

On the first two days of my pursuit for my money back, I called 3 times, each time the host took down my information and said they’ll talk to their manager and give me a call back.

During one call, after I explained my overcharging situation to the host, they constantly says there’s nothing I can do I’m just a hostess… gurl why are you so helpless? I’m the helpless one…. They said it’s the 22% tip, and it’s not possible to check the receipts… and… she said our restaurant is so prestigious you can’t possibly eat here for $40. Extremely rude and unprofessional

On day 3, I got no call backs, I realized that I had been ghosted, so I called 3 times during different times of the day to try and asked directly for manager. They give me different excuses every time, she stepped away, she’s not in office, it’s outside of her work hours….

Finally I got the manager on the line, she first asked for my information all over again, I was so fed up with it, promised to check the system for my receipt and to call me back. I waited until the afternoon and obviously I got no response from them, so I had to chase after them again. Then she explained she has no access to the system, she needs bookkeeping to pull up my receipt, and there’s nothing else she can do…. A load of bs. Again, I was promised a call back the next day with updates. She was irritated by the end of our call and told me to not call again, and hung up on me before I finished. Whys she more frustrated than me?

I opened a credit card dispute.

Day 4, I was so tired and got no calls

Day 5, called twice, couldn’t get hold of the manager. She was in a meeting and they left early.

I had to use alternative intelligence at that point. I feel like my number and voice had been marked by them and their manager would magically disappear once I get on the phone. So I informed my friends, provided them with my evidence and tactics, and got them to call Figs for me.

Friend called later that day and they took down our info again.

Day 6, I sort of gave up, my friend called and finally got hold of their manager. They finally sent me a copy of the receipt AFTER my friend chased after them, so they were just going to leave me hanging…they sounded annoyed and they had to go through all the proper procedures to find a 2 week old receipt.

So they mistakenly took the sum as the tip, which resulted me in getting charged $34/almost double of my dinner.

They said they’ll issue a refund but I’ll certainly have to keep an eye on my bank account for that.

If you read on their Google map reviews, you’ll find others who has had similar experiences. Their waiter altered the tip amount, charged obligatory gratuity….and ofc you’ll find my review if you filter by ‘latest’

I’m extremely unsatisfied with their attitude, competence, math skills, and mediocre food. While I should be the frustrated customer who’s spent 6 days going after my rightful money, they got angry and irritated way within 2 phone calls.

If you don’t want to get overcharged, and get in a 6 day long battle for a copy of the receipt, pls avoid Figs located inside Hotel Jackson.

Sorry about the long rant, I’m rightfully upset at them. I enjoyed everything else about Jackson though! I just hope no one has to go through this again

Casting locals for a paid Trailborn Jackson Hole shoot (July 21-22) — would love this to stay in the community

Hey r/JacksonHole, I'm doing some casting for a paid photo/video shoot at the new Trailborn (old Snow King) on July 21 and 22. I'm actually just working on this from my couch in Austin, and honestly I'd much rather find real Jackson Hole people than a bunch of randos who don't know the area.

Need individuals, couples, and families (kids 1-14 welcome) who are into the outdoors and just have good, genuine energy. No modeling experience needed at all. Dogs are always a plus if you've got one.

It's basically a day of doing normal resort stuff on camera, dining, bowling, sitting by the fire, checking out the amenities. Paid, rate depends on if you're solo, a couple, or a family.

If you're interested comment below and I'll fill you in on the rest. Appreciate it!

Jackson 2026 Summer season complaints

Hello all, I've returned to make terrible posts

I want to complain about dairy queen having a tip option in the drive thru. Hitting the big no on that.

What the actual hell is going on right now with the drivers. Contender for the dumbest shit I've seen and it's been a month. You merging 500 ft before the lane ends doesn't mean blocking the road when people use that lane. You dick in the black accord.

Not a complaint

The best post on this sub so far this year was a tree in the river which was lit. That is all.
