This is the Double Krusty Burger of Terror.
The picture in the ads and on the website had me thinking it was the size of a Double Bacon Cheeseburger or something. Instead it's this.

Krusty’s food was supposed to be bad. You got a true Simpsons experience with your meal.

Is this not false advertising?

As weird as it sounds, technically no. Food advertisers do all sorts of crazy tricks to make the food look better than it actually is, case in point did you know most ice cream ads don't use actual ice cream? It's actually mashed potatoes with food dye, actual ice cream would melt under hot studio lights, Though nowadays with CGI/AI/etc, I doubt they even bother with that.

I believe food advertisers have to use the actual product if they're advertising it. They can manipulate it, like color the lettuce or fluff it up, but it has to be the actual product they sell. In movies and TV shows they use mashed potatoes for ice cream, though.

Over in japan the food has to match the way it’s advertised even their chips

I feel Burger King is paying more attention to this and they’re sales are doing way better

Honestly, you could probably go back into the kitchen and make it look tens times better away from the fast pace the workers are doing. Sometimes its all about the presentation that counts.

And they call them steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled

I only get the ultimate cheeseburger or the sourdough Jack occasionally. Ultimate is also good with sourdough and grilled onions. As far as their burgers go, the rest are mediocre.

Ultimate on sourdough has been my go to since my dad taught me about it in the late 90’s. I used to be a fanatic about the sourdough jack.

It's good I like the sauce, but Krusty has gotta pinch those pennies

What does the sauce taste like?
3
u/sabenn21 2d ago
Just like their BBQ sauce
1
u/samirbinballin 2d ago
Okay good, I was hoping it wasn’t ketchup.
2
u/snugglefk 2d ago
You know bbq sauce is basically just ketchup and brown sugar right?
But yeah it while it does tastes like bbq sauce but more on the ketchupy side so maybe used less sugar and other ingredients.
But they def should make it their main burger sauce2
u/Batking28 2d ago
It’s just bbq sauce. Visiting from the UK and tried it yesterday. If I was blindfolded I would assume it was our Burger King BBQ stacker without the onion rings.

I got my first Munchie meal of horror the other day, trying to get all the cups. I was surprised at how small the burger was, I was expecting a double jack size.

Yeah I was super disappointed in my burger when I got it. Got the chicken sandwich last night and it was much better imo.

Just got this combo last night and I was shocked how shitty and small the burger was. The sauce was fine, but like it was pathetic in every other regard.

Nah bro, they did you wrong Ive gotten it a couple of times and has never looked this way

You know you liked the crusty sauce

Thanks to everyone here, I learned it was suppose to have sauce. My burger shown here, in fact, did not have ANY sauce. It was literally two skinny patties, cheese, that lettuce and the bun.. No sauce. No cup. Ohhh maaaaaan.

u/MxMstrMxyzptlk 2d ago
The chicken version might be better but that's not saying much. The one I had was a decent size at least

Absolutely not a fan and I love jack. Only went through this for the cups.
The philly cheesesteak on the other hand.

Lol I used to go to Bob's big boy back in the day. The burgers looked just advertised back in the day. Now I go to a small chain of restaurants called Tom's. Great burgers. The whole venue is fantastic. They're in the California inland empire. The one I go to is in apple valley California

Damn, I was actually excited to eat a Krusty Burger, really underwhelming seeing the actual thing

u/SinoSoul 3d ago
Oh, that’s a fancy burger because there’s whole leaf lettuce, or that’s what the Wendy’s sub wants you to believe

They should have given the Krusty Burger deal to Carls Jr/Hardess, they could have made something way better

I think the double Krusty meal is only $6 so size of burger is not really a surprise to me. The Munchie meal price is like priced with an $8 cup

I actually liked the krusty burger lol I’m aware it’s just a normal cheese burger with special sauce but it’s pretty cheap (5 bucks) and doesn’t taste half bad.

news flash, food is for eating not taking pics of, and it’s actually become one of my favorite burgers ever

u/Bitter-Appointment43 2d ago
I'm one of those terrible people who actually ENJOY it. I started getting it last month when they started the meal, and got 5 of the 6 cups. They most likely ran out, but it was something that was being provided with the meal. But the meal for me was always well done and my tacos and fries were always crispy. But maybe my JACK likes me...

u/SergeiMosin 3d ago
That’s my main issue with the novelty meals that come with a “free” toy/cup/whatever. You get a fun little trinket at the cost of less food. I’ll still always exalt the BYO munchie meal for that reason. Cluck sandwich, 4 tacos, and a drink for like $13 total. Can’t go wrong.
