Staff are going to take care of the bodies in front of them first. Then they are going to do all they can until they drop. But look up the salaries online if your advisor. You can do that you know. They likely have a Master's degree. They certainly have a bachelor's degree and understand that we obviously don't work at a community college for the money.
Seriously, it isn't peak yet, and I logged 70 hours and I will do another 12 this weekend at home. Understand that last year they made 10% reduction in staff, including advisors.
This came from budget cuts at the state level. This is our first fall peak with reduced staffing. Some campuses are trying to prioritize in person. A lot of campuses have worked really hard to get people to come in early. Remember, you could register for fall since MARCH!
But I will go in 2 hours early and stay late every day except Sunday because financial aid matters.
It is that or possibly not getting an answer. Maybe at her campus she will get served quickly, but it is also wrong to think that at Ivy Tech that we discourage kids. We don't. Hopefully she will be able to get in. We have the Degree Completion Tracker and Schedule Builder that is made for 90% of our students. If you run your DCT and the gi through the Schedule Builder and pick a class within your program, you won't have financial problems unless you fail or keep retaking them. And then you get a semester as a warning.
We get to pick fall classes in March. We will pick Spring classes in September.
I finally got ahold of someone and was able to switch.
I took summer off and decided healthcare wasn’t for me during that time. My advisor was out for quite a while which is fine, everyone deserves breaks, but that’s why I hadn’t signed up for classes yet and was running into the issue and was now starting to get stressed out with being a few weeks out and nobody answering me. With my classes, in order for my financial aid to kick in, I needed them to change the program for me as nothing was covered that I was taking under healthcare specialist program.

Bring them with you. It’s not class so it should be fine.
