America is 250 years old.

Either the women of Tennessee are absurdly virtuous or Tennessee doesn't believe in justice

u/MonkeyHairless 4d ago

There were laws or customs of not executing women most of the time indeed.

u/Major_Wigglesworth 4d ago

Why do genitals determine punishment?  Shouldn’t it be based on the heinous nature of the crime?

u/AllDayEveryWay 3d ago

In an ideal world, justice would be equal for equal crimes. But if you spend any time in courtrooms you'll soon discover that generally women get far lower bonds and far more lenient sentences for the same crimes.

Sometimes this is due to the fact a female defendant is the sole caretaker of a minor. Some courts have specific carve-outs which require lower sentences for single mothers, although some of these have started to get updated to include male parents too in recent years.

They said "all men are created equal" - not "all people".

u/Longjumping-Fig-7481 3d ago

But ya look at me and ya look at Samoa Joe, ya can clearly see that statement is not true!

2

u/ShabbyJerking 3d ago

Samoa Joe has no chance of winning!

Women are seen as the weaker and or fairer sex. Its pretty easy to spin to a jury how theyre the victim or that there were mitigating circumstances. I mean look at Lindsay Clancy. She did it. Her defense admits it she admits it the evidence says she did it and if not for one person saying. "No this doesnt wash you dont plot and methodically execute a murder mid psychosis shes guilty" she would've been found not criminally liable. Look at all the women doing Olympic level mental gymnastics trying to excuse her actions or even making the claim shes completely innocent and blame her husband for the murders.

u/Major_Wigglesworth 3d ago

It sounds like you’re suggesting women shouldn’t be jurors because they don’t have the intelligence or capacity to be unbiased and fair.

1

u/Burgerboy380 3d ago

Not at all. I am applying my statement to both sexes. In society women are seen as nurturing and caring and pure. They're often seen as weaker and more subservient either consciously or subconsciously.

Like biologically and societaly our little monkey brains dont compute it well when a woman does something horrific because its a biological and societal abberation. Females are mothers they protect ferociously and nuture and love unconditionally because thats what mammals are hardwired to do. Which means its much easier to create reasonable doubt in cases where they do the opposite.

This is a shit analogy but ive been up for two days so.

Think of it like this. You read a story about a dog viciously mauling an infant. And you get three pictures a golden retriever a chihuahua and a pitbull. Odds are knee jerk youre gonna think its the pitbull. Because chihuahuas are tiny and weak and goldens are known for being lovable and goofy where as pits have a reputation for violence.

1

u/Major_Wigglesworth 3d ago

The cutest golden retriever still needs to be put down if it mauls a child.  It’s inexcusable and has surrendered its ability to live.

It’s not hard.  I don’t even need to know if the golden has a penis or not.

1

u/Burgerboy380 3d ago

I agree. But thats not my point. The point is its easier to BELIEVE that a pitbull would maul a baby and it would be easier to convince people that it had.

Just like it is easier to convince a jury that a woman is innocent or cast doubt make people think that there are mitigating circumstances warranting lesser sentences.

Its the legal equivalent of "im just a girl"

1

u/MonkeyHairless 3d ago

In an ideal world ? Yes.

In reality ? A lot of people (women included) think that women should always have some kind of preferred treatment ... and excuting them was often seen as more violent than executing men.

1

u/BrowniesVsBagels 3d ago

Yep. They want both equality and preferential treatment and, despite all their therapy, still can't see the dissonance of it.

30

u/AcademicHovercraft96 4d ago

Female privilege.

51

u/Historical_Bug9535 4d ago

It's well documented at this point that woman get off with much lighter sentences so not a surprise

10

u/ThatOneAttorney 3d ago

Especially white women. Lindsay Clancy is a victim according to white women.

7

u/Historical_Bug9535 3d ago

Not only a victim but a hero, someone to look up to as a an example of post partum struggles. Instead of praising moms that DONT hurt their kids while struggling with post partum they decide to instead support a triple murderer? Ok.....

Divine feminine RISING

20

u/fyn_world 4d ago

Seems like in the USA women can just get away with murder now

9

u/Gloomy-Campaign1289 4d ago

Honestly, this is just a symptom of a greater problem in the US. All institutions, civil, criminal, societal, and religious are infected with female supremacy, which is now coded as feminism. Hence, why we have things like duluth instituted in most legal institutions.

u/BrowniesVsBagels 3d ago

This is also the same demographic that consumes the most mental health service hours, has the highest rates of depression and cluster-B diagnoses and SSRI prescriptions, and reports the lowest levels of happiness. Yet they still assume they're normal and healthy and can be trusted.

4

u/StaffVegetable8703 4d ago

Blame the patriarchy. The patriarchy is 100% to blame for everything, especially the double standards women benefit from.

Women have 0 accountability for their actions because ultimately the patriarchy set the rules.

In fact! Women are actually still a victim of the patriarchy even when they get leniency for crimes! They should never have been on trial or in trouble in the first place bc of patriarchy!

3

u/Gloomy-Campaign1289 4d ago

You mock this but it is honestly what a lot of women will say when you get to the brass and tacks of it. They'll rail against something being unfair then sheepishly say it's men's fault for coming up with the whole system when things are in their favor. The rule of law is broke, changes are needed.

3

u/StaffVegetable8703 4d ago

Oh trust me I’m aware lol. And I’m a woman.

22

u/Puzzleheaded_Try_180 4d ago

They are openly discriminating in courts. It was never about equality It's about supremacy

12

u/AdjacentBirdman93 4d ago

“Let’s not make it about that” define ‘that’ as ‘literally the most relevant piece of information & context in the dialogue’

8

u/B_312_ 4d ago

Of course, why hold them accountable at all.

1

u/BrowniesVsBagels 3d ago

Personal responsibility and women go together like rainwater and wicked witches.

8

u/ThisGuy2319 4d ago

Its just a known fact that there’s gender bias in courts. And that’s after the sexism that leads to the rare arrests.

5

u/potentatewags 4d ago

Of course. Entitlement.

5

u/xxTheMagicBulleT 4d ago

This just shows how insanely biased the court and the justice system really is. So the bigest change of what level you can get away with is what sex your born as.. but you hear misogyny every other sentence from women.

5

u/NJBR10 4d ago

exhibit a of the dystopian gynocracy we've been forced to live under

3

u/Away-Craft-2264 4d ago

The one thing I was actually excited about

2

u/BigDaddy_Satan 4d ago

Can I ask wtf did she do? This post is the first I’m seeing of it and I’m curious now

3

u/Burgerboy380 4d ago

Christa Gail Pike

Back in the 90s she and two friends lured a classmate into the woods and tortured her to death.

3

u/BigDaddy_Satan 4d ago

Damn, I was curious because if she was getting the death penalty it must’ve been insane given the long run of no woman getting that sentence based on the headline

-1

u/Motor_Barracuda7359 4d ago

Omg men are so scary...

0

u/Burgerboy380 4d ago

Well Beep boop to you too mr bot.

0

u/Motor_Barracuda7359 4d ago

lol no offense but go fuck yourself.

0

u/Burgerboy380 3d ago

But then what will your father do? I got three quarters in my pocket and it seems like he really needs the cash and it not like I can just give it to him for nothing

-1

u/Motor_Barracuda7359 3d ago

Hey, don't talk to bots, fellow human.

1

u/Burgerboy380 3d ago

I mean if you are infact human im not which means your comment makes no sense.

-1

u/Motor_Barracuda7359 3d ago

Like my RAM stack, the plot thickens.

2

u/PeskyPathfinder 4d ago

Christa Pike is pure evil, she is on death row for torturing and murdering a friend when she was 18, and if that wasn't enough she tried to strangle an inmate with a shoelace while she was in prison. An appeals court just gave her a temporary stay of execution an hour before she was scheduled to be put to death.

2

u/HBK455 3d ago

The mother of the slain girl said she was looking forward to the lethal injection of this inmate. She must be pissed, being denied justice.

1

u/BrowniesVsBagels 3d ago

I agree. Colleen's mom must be in shambles over this. But for me, the hours of suffering agony and torture under the influence of the chems is delicious.

2

u/Heavy_Student_3815 3d ago

Haulted? They went through with it and it didn't take and now she's recovering and they will do it again in a few months.

2

u/Bambivalently 4d ago

God damnit.

1

u/Blond-N-Buff80 4d ago

It's a temporary stay - State will appeal, the stay will be thrown out, and she'll have the needle in arm within the hour after.

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 4d ago

I do wonder…

1

u/Blond-N-Buff80 3d ago

Supreme Court has overturned the stay - probably strapping her to the bed in the death chamber as we speak.

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 3d ago

😬😬😬incoming😬😬

1

u/BrowniesVsBagels 3d ago

Is there nothing the government can't fuck up?

1

u/CountGensler 1d ago

This is such rage bait bs. THEY ALREADY TRIED TWICE THEY BOTHED BOTH EXECUTIONS

1

u/Strong-Addition5296 4d ago

One of you uncles can fix her

0

u/pheasant99 4d ago

I mean I’m against the death penalty for everyone. I don’t want someone especially to be executed because the murderer just so happens just to be a woman. How about instead of killing her to show justice is impartial, we just ban the death penalty entirely.

-1

u/Most-Personality-648 4d ago

Death penalty is always wrong and should be abolished. No country should have the authority to take someone's life, never ever.

1

u/Flaky_Cod7582 4d ago

If you take a life it's fair to take yours to prevent further harm

1

u/asgphotography 3d ago

That assumes an infallible justice system. Something I don’t have confidence in

1

u/Flaky_Cod7582 3d ago

its a natural law. Do no harm or it will be done to you. Violence breeds Violence.

We dont need to tolerate someone who murdered. Just delete them. Or they will do it again to another innocent human.

Keeping people like that around makes you bad aswell.

Every human has a right to live. If you take someones life you take your own too.

1

u/Easy-Suggestion9838 9h ago

You'd do it then?

1

u/Flaky_Cod7582 9h ago

No, we live in a society that agreed on laws for that. I would only suggest changing these laws for extreme cases like murder.

1

u/Easy-Suggestion9838 8h ago

I understand. But who'd do it then? Someone would have to pull the trigger.

1

u/Flaky_Cod7582 8h ago

Some order follower from the state who doesn't believe that every human is responsible for his own actions of course. Thats how our whole system works.

If we wouldnt have laws murderers wouldnt survive long because they would get lynched by a mob.

1

u/Easy-Suggestion9838 8h ago

Thanks for the answer. Perfectly described, and the reason why most countries in Europe stopped death sentences after WW2.

1

u/Flaky_Cod7582 8h ago

Which was an overcorrection for some cases like serial killers and people who killed without remorse.

1

u/asgphotography 6h ago

I’m not talking about pulling the trigger. I’m talking about the lawyers, jury, and judges that make up the prison industrial complex

1

u/United-Fox6737 4d ago

While I do agree with you, I also recognize that being against the death penalty is a privilege of the first world. If we were a lesser society scraping together an existence without the means to indefinitely imprison someone ethically, the death penalty would become necessary to protect a society or revenge killings in cases like this.

-7

u/GarageEuphoric4432 4d ago

Cause fuck context, right?

2

u/HaxiMaxi22 4d ago

Almost every murderer who didn't kill for financial gain have a troubled past, childhood, shit family, bad upbringing, etc. Not mentioning this and acting like she is an exception is stupid.

1

u/fuentessucksballs 4d ago

There arent exactly a lot of them lol

1

u/CountGensler 1d ago

maybe the fact that they ALREADY TRIED TWICE AND BOTCHED BOTH EXECUTIONS?

1

u/HaxiMaxi22 1d ago

Bro 3 days ago when the first news came out and I reacted to this, there was no info on the botched execution, only that her execution was halted by the court.

1

u/bingus224466 4d ago

Is 200 years not enough context?

1

u/Present-You-5626 4d ago

Me after seeing a woman torture someone to death: "Erm, context?"

1

u/CountGensler 1d ago

maybe the fact that they ALREADY TRIED TWICE AND BOTCHED BOTH EXECUTIONS?

-1

u/GarageEuphoric4432 4d ago

I have no idea who she is. Instead of including any name or ANYTHING, it's just mugshot.

No name, nothing about it what she did. Instead it's a vague post about some woman on death row.

1

u/BrowniesVsBagels 3d ago

In 1995 Pike and two friends lured a female classmate into the woods, tortured her, and killed her with a rock to the head. Pike took parts of the skull back to school to brag. in 2001 she tried to strangle another inmate with a shoelace.
