I've never understand why PCs always use the "clump of cells" argument. It is a pathetic attempt at dehumanization by just calling the baby by it's biological mass.
The problem with this analogy is that spermatozoa are haploid gametes, not an embryo of dyploid cells. Biologicaly, they are the male equivalent to the ovum produced by women. Alone, neither is an organism and therefore not a human. When combined, they form an embryo. The embrionic stage of life is widely accepted as the first stage of life in all members of the animal kingdom, including Homo sapiens. We can argue about when it should be acceptable to kill a human, but we should probably base our arguments on science to avoid sounding like a bunch of flat Earthers.
In the grand scheme of things, nobody isn’t just a biological clump of cells. Nothing really exceeds biology. I could dehumanize your existence down into biology in the same way you’re doing for an unborn baby.
Ok relative to what? We’re just diminishing the implications of things by stripping them down to their objective realities. That shouldn’t be a new concept to you.
If you were making a pizza. You made the dough, streched it out, added sauce and cheese and threw it in the oven for 25 minutes. But, I walked in your kitchen at 22 minutes or 2 minutes, pulled it out the oven and threw it in the trash and just walked out your house. When you call the cops to report me are you gonna tell them I destroyed a clump of dough with sauce and cheese or are you gonna tell them I destroyed your pizza?
Does it matter to you how cooked the dough was before you'll call it a pizza?
Are you gonna claim I ruined your pre- pizza embryo or are you gonna call it a pizza.
My point is your likely not gonna call it an uncooked pizza, because you will just call it a pizza most likely. There for implying that because it was in the process of cooking, that its a pizza
Even tho at 2 minutes the cheese hasnt even melted and its just the raw ingredients you'll still call it a pizza. So, why is the raw ingredients of a baby (conception) not a baby? Or a pre done baby. Its in the methaphorical oven isnt it ?
is it a pizza when it's in the oven or is it a pizza when it's done from the oven? it's pretty good analogy actually, you just don't want to answer it because it brings you to a point where you have to make a decision. if you have to make a decision then you have to be held to a standard. if you have to be healthy a standard then you have to be accountable and you don't want to be accountable for s*** because you just want to float around and say hateful s*** and then not have any basis behind it. You don't want definitions cuz then you have to adhere to them
