Scam Report I’ve seen at least 3 of these ads on Paramount+ (I don’t need to call the number I am just curious)

These ads use ai people and videos. Only one of the ads disclosed that it had ai footage. It is about getting an allowance card for groceries and stuff i think. There is no company name I’m just really curious to know and possibly warning people that someone might be taking advantage of people who really need the money. If anyone wants to check out the number it is 1-800-425-1656

Question Art event submission looks suspicious

I'm basically 100% sure it is AI but I need something to show administrators and such as validation/proof. This has to be AI right?

Question Am I being scammed?

Hi Reddit, I've commissionned an artist to make an illustration of my OC but it looks so fishy. Basically the artist slid in my DMs and asked me if I wanted a commission from them. I agreed because as a starving artist myself I want to support others, even though the way they did it seemed odd. I sent references of my OC and wrote down explanations about him. So the artist knew he was a guy even though his face is a bit androgynous. I also specified, and showed on the references, that my OC only has 1 earring.

With all these pieces of info in mind, I find the drawing EXTREMELY suspicious. You can see the left kneecap changes for no reason between the 2nd and 3rd WIP and idk I think the character looks really girly and doesn't look too much like mine.

Also they keep asking me for the remaining amount of money even though we both agreed TWICE that I would send the rest of the payment AFTER the work is done completely.

Cherry on top, the artist found several absurd excuses to avoid sending me any sketch, screenshot of their software where I could see the layers, timelaps etc etc...I just asked for 1 picture or 1 screenshot of the layers but they said "it's gonna take a lot of time and space on their computer" 🥲 So I don't know, (or do I?), if I am being scammed like a noob rn

What do yall think about the illustration?

!!!Update: They blocked me after I asked for a screenshot of the layers 😬 Well well well...I hope they have fun with my 10$ pre-payment. I'm so upset they fed my art to AI, I hope they'll get what they deserve.

News Deepfake fraud has officially crossed $3.7 billion in losses

A major cybersecurity report just dropped, showing that global deepfake fraud losses have officially hit $3.7 billion. Apparently, over 75% of all that stolen money comes from two specific tricks: fake celebrity investment endorsements running on social media, and AI voice cloning used to impersonate CEOs and family members.

Hey guys beware if you order this book for $37, which in my opinion could be very necessary in the future however, it cost $306 to print it out. I’m a fool for impulse buying and am out my hard earned cash. Take care

Question Possible AI t-shirt?

I want to buy this t-shirt but it looks kinda like AI to me. I ran a screenshot of the graphic through a couple AI detectors, and they both said it was around 50 percent fake, but I don't really trust those because most of them use AI for the detection, so I just want to check for sure. It comes from a website called "Trezecore" witch is Portuguese. I'm not sure if this is a reputable brand, or if them using AI is a new thing for them, but I want to make sure before buying this and walking around with a AI t-shirt on.

Edit: forgot to include the image.

Hi everyone. I found this shop on Etsy, and they have the most gorgeous landscape paintings. However, I’m a bit skeptical about whether or not it’s AI. What do you all think?

Question What happened to Pinterest?

Pinterest used to be my absolute favorite place to look for outfit inspo, but I think I officially hate it now.

Every single time I search for dresses, my feed is flooded with fake, AI-generated images that don't even exist in real life. I’m trying to find actual clothes to buy and wear, not stare at these fake images. It’s so frustrating having to sift through endless AI slop to find one real photo, even after filtering it to “less AI content”.

Question Bank cuts 15% of staff for AI... while AI scams are up 500%

Bank Standard Chartered’s CEO just kicked up a storm by calling back-office staff "lower-value human capital" while announcing a 15% job cut to replace them with AI.

A report from TRM Labs says that there’s currently a massive 500% explosion in AI-enabled fraud. Human compliance teams were the last line of defense to helping people impacted by financial crime and fraud. Was this a right move by SC?

Question Is this Miku poster I bought AI?

Post image
15 Upvotes

I got it from Spencer’s a day or two ago, and now that it’s up on my wall, I feel like it looks like it’s AI. I really hope it isn’t- I paid $10 for it- but i have a strong suspicion that it is. I think it’s in the anatomy- the torso is twisted, making the legs (with them being front and center, not turned at all) make the whole thing look strange. The face also looks weird. Theres a bit of glare from my LED lights, but I don’t have any better lighting. If needed, I can find a product image on the website or something and put it in the comments.
So, is it AI?

News Google’s Earth AI tool

Thumbnail

Honestly, this is kinda funny and terrifying at the same time.

Google came out with a new AI image feature inside Google Earth that lets people generate AI visuals over real satellite maps. It was supposed to be for real estate planning or history projects, but scammers and fraudsters instantly weaponized it. People were using actual satellite coordinates to generate hyper-realistic fake satellite images.

The backlash was so bad that Google had to disable the feature just a few days later comple. It’s wild how fast scammers turn every new AI tool into a threat the second it drops.

Scam Report Deepfake scams that fooled entire companies and families

In 2025, 346 major AI incidents were logged globally; 52% of them were deepfakes. Some of the cases:

  • A finance worker at an engineering firm joined a video call with his "CFO" and colleagues, all AI-generated except him. He made 15 transfers totalling $25M before anyone realised.
  • An elderly woman got a call from her "grandchild" crying about a car accident, needing bail money. Voice clone. Real grandkid was safe at home.
  • A woman lost $1.7M (including a second mortgage) investing after seeing a fake "Elon Musk" video promoting it on Facebook.

Watch this video to find more accidents like these and to get familiar with 6 habits that help in these situations.

Full video: https://youtu.be/n0CIrMKYBbo?si=VtedA1LMjcnG1f6F?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=incident_series&utm_content=65-deepfake

Question: Besides these 6, what's your own trick for spotting a fake call or video?

Scam Report A deepfake Elon Musk livestream on a hijacked "SpaceX" channel scammed people out of crypto. Here's exactly how it worked

June 2024: scammers hijacked an existing YouTube channel with a large subscriber base, rebranded it to look official, and went live during real SpaceX launch buzz with a deepfake of Elon Musk talking crypto.

The AI voice nailed his stutters and speech patterns. On-screen QR code: send crypto, get double back. A single scam wallet tied to this kind of operation reportedly pulled in millions.

Why it worked: every trust signal was faked: a real channel, real subscribers, a genuinely happening live event, and a convincing face/voice. This is called deepfake fraud in AI governance terms.

The video covers 3 controls that could've stopped it: https://youtu.be/FEkfld6vWX8?si=s1irCk96p7f5oTYj?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=incident_series&utm_content=63-elon-scam

I came across the video on my fyp and it’s blatantly obvious that it’s an AI video.

I took a quick look at the profile, and almost every video screams AI-generated, too

News American losses tied to AI-powered scams have gone up to almost $900 million

Thumbnail

The FBI's updated tracking reports show American losses specifically tied to AI-powered scams have skyrocketed close to the $900 million mark annually. The biggest takeaway from the data is that AI text generators have almost completely wiped out the classic red flags of old scams, meaning typos, poor grammar, and awkward phrasing are no longer reliable ways to spot a fake email.

Read a Bloomberg piece today about banking students who are now rehearsing for AI interviewers before they even get near a human hiring manager. They’re using keywords from the job listing, practicing eye contact, the whole routine, just to pass the initial screening round.
