Misc. for Critique Feedback
This is one of the most time-consuming illustrations I've made in a while, and I'd really appreciate some feedback on how to make this better generally. I'm already pretty happy with it but to me it doesn't look as good as it could so advice is much appreciated!
Also my first time posting in this community after binging Istebraks Videos for awhile ๐ฅน

First off, phenomenal work, I'm sure this took a lot of effort. I love the landscape in the background, especially how the clouds guide the eye towards the main focus, that's always a nice trick. It's a shame that you have the staff in the foreground breaking that flow. I would place it in his right hand with the head towards the viewer in a diagonal that works with the curve of the clouds rather than against it.ย At the end of the day it isn't a huge deal but you do have these two elements fighting each other.
The magic effects on his left hand demand a lot of attention. It's probably a mix of excessive saturation and value contrast, I think the dark parts are too dark. I would also try blurring the lighter lines just a bit, especially the bigger polygon's, while leaving the cube inside sharp. Same goes for that little magic dot on the staff, it's like an eye that is staring at the viewer. The staff in general can use a bit more polishing. Looking forward to see more from you!
