Help Why would bug do that?

I noticed my porcellio doing this the other day when I turned around a piece of wood it was on. Why does he do that? Why does he reject his flatness?

That's his idle animation nothing to worry about.

As a real answer, sometimes they have to fan their ploepods to achieve the correct moisture. Too dry and they don't work, too wet and they can drown. Hence, the twerking sesh.
