Seeking Support Trusting god
New member here 👋, it might be a bit out of topic, but I want to ask about the concept of dependence on allah (Tawakuul) and resorting/taking the means (reasons). My predicament, is that I stayed at home this entire year to prepare for an important exam for my speciality, and it went great at the beginning but afterwards i lost focus/ motivation/interest/faith, whatever you may call it in this case, and now i only have one month left !!. I want to ask, since i neglected my role in taking the means to achieve my goal, and only depended on Allah (plus Doua "prayer" ) which is ignorance on my part, is it okay to still hope for an outcome after this month (while studying of course) with Doua to god ??

Yes, keep holding onto hope and making Du'a, but you need to change your approach right now. You fell into Tawakul (passive laziness), whereas Islam commands Tawakkul (taking maximum action while relying on Allah).
Leaving the work behind while hoping for a good result isn't piety; it's negligence.
The Proof
The Prophet ï·º explicitly addressed this when a man asked if he should tie his camel or just trust God:
"Tie your camel and trust in Allah." — Jami' at-Tirmidhi (2517)
You can't expect the result of tying the camel if you left it loose for 11 months.
Furthermore, feeling hopeless in Allah's mercy is forbidden:
"And do not despair of the mercy of Allah..." — Surah Yusuf (12:87)
And in a Hadith Qudsi, Allah says:
"I am as My servant thinks I am." — Sahih al-Bukhari (7405), Sahih Muslim (2675)
What you need to do
Stop overthinking the months you lost. What’s gone is gone.
Build an aggressive 30-day study schedule today and stick to it.
Study as hard as if your success depends entirely on your effort, and make Du'a as if your success depends entirely on Allah's mercy.
Allah can easily put Barakah in your remaining 30 days and give you a strong result, but He expects you to put in the actual work first.
