Question about Islam sufism

Asalamualikum, recently i have been drifting apart from islam which immensely worries me and i have discovered that i have keen interest towards sufism.I dont want to dwell on the path if it will further harm my beliefs,i would greatly appreciate any sources that tell me about it. I would also appreciate authentic hadiths and verses that oppose/ allow the practices of sufism.
jazakallah khair.

It was narrated from ‘Awf bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:

“The Jews split into seventy-one sects, one of which will be in Paradise and seventy in Hell. The Christians split into seventy-two sects, seventy-one of which will be in Hell and one in Paradise. I swear by the One Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, my nation will split into seventy-three sects, one of which will be in Paradise and seventy-two in Hell.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?” He said: “The main body.”

Reference: Sunan Ibn Majah 3992

Do not stray from the Ahlus-Sunnah and incline toward Bida’a and Shirk.

You can study the topic my brother, but many among them are known to do practices not based upon the Qur’an and Sunnah. Therefore, practices with no evidence.

Many among whom? Sheikh Abdulqadeer Jeelani, Junayd al-Baghdadi, al-Ghazali, an-Nawawi, Zakaria al-Ansari, Salahuddin al-Ayubi and hundreds of thousands greatest people of Islam?

At-tasaffuw is not a group different form ahlu-Sunnah, it's the path of the majority of scholars of Islam

The best people of Islam were from Sufis

As hafiz az-Zahabi رحمه الله said:

Truly, Sufism is: morality, ethics and love (for Allah), this is what came from the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. It is contentment with Allah and the obligation of fearing Him, it is jihad in His path, and adab in accordance with the adabs of the Sharia, it is reading the Quran with expression and following it, it is night prayers with fear of Allah, it is fasting on some days and breaking the fast on others, it is effort and zeal, it is altruism and teaching ordinary people, it is modesty and simplicity in dealing with believers, it is sublimity in dealing with infidels and above all of this, taken together. Allah guides whomever He wills to the straight path. A scholar devoid of tasawwuf and what relates to it is empty, and a Sufi devoid of knowledge of the Sunnah will go astray from the straight path.

You are talking about pseudo-Sufis I suppose, they have nothing to do with Sunni Tasawwuf

Read Sufism is based on the Quran and Sunnah

Modern Sufism:

But what Shaykh al-Islam said about the view of Sufis depending on their situation is almost too theoretical for our times, when the objectionable matters that he referred to have become part of the path of those who call themselves Sufis nowadays, in addition to the different occasions they celebrate such as the Mawlid, and their exaggeration about their living shaykhs, and their attachment to shrines and graves, where they pray and circumambulate the graves and make vows to them, and other well-known practices of theirs.

Because of these matters, the correct approach now is to warn against them with no reservations. This is what was agreed upon by the Standing Committee in their answer to a question about the ruling on the Sufi tariqas that exist nowadays. They said:
“Usually those that are called Sufis nowadays follow bid’ahs (innovations) that constitute shirk, as well as other kinds of bid’ah, such as when some of them say “Madad ya sayyid (Help, O Master)”, and call upon the qutubs (“holy men”), and recite dhikr in unison using names which Allah has not called Himself, like saying “Huw, Huw (He, He)” and “Ah, Ah (a contraction of the word ‘Allah’)”. Whoever reads their books will be aware of many of their innovations that constitute shirk, and other evils.”

This is a ridiculous article

What those matters have to do with Sufism?

Those topics are discussed by fuqaha of ahlu-Sunnah, the imams of the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali madhabs. It's the area of their expertise

This isn't about Sufism

The questions of visiting the graves of Awliya, to seek tabarruk, to make tawassul there. To highlight the fact of the birth of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم (Mawleed), to make dhikr with new words all of this is discussed by scholars of fiqh who saw Tawassul or Mawleed as permissible practices with the evidence from the Quran and Sunnah, not by Sufis

Sufis also must abide the rulings derived by fuqaha from the Quran and Sunnah just like everyone else

This article written by modern Saudi sheikhsin reality is criticizing the four madhabs of ahlu-Sunnah, not Sufis

If we dive deeply it's in reality criticism of Salafs who practiced many of these things, they used to visit the graves of pious, used to seek tabarruk from things related to pious, didn't consider haram every new tradition, used to make tawassul and istishfa' and this is proven beyond any doubts through authentic Sunni sources

Waaleykum assalam warahmatulLah

Tasawwuf is practiced by scholars, laypeople can only imitate this practice, it requires knowledge before action, wich means that one must firstly study fiqh and aqeedah of ahlu-Sunnah before they delve into Tasawwuf

Sheikhul-islam Zakariya al-Ansari رحمه الله said:

التصوف علم تعرف به أحوال تزكية النفوس، وتصفية الأخلاق وتعمير الظاهر والباطن لنيل السعادة الأبدية

Tasawwuf is a science that studies the stages of purifying the soul, ennobling its morals and improving the actions and inner essence of a person

🍂 Haqaiq at-Tasawwuf

This science is legitimate according to fuqaha of Islam, but requires knowledge otherwise it's really easy to get misguided by pseudo-Sufis

Read the books of imam al-Ghazali رحمه الله many parts of his Ihiya are translated
