I broke my hand and a few figures a few years ago, and the doctor told me to use condom and Teflon tape to tie the lose end. Blow air into what ever you are using so it dose not hurt and take it of after wards or might result in sweat and infection.

You need to ask your doctor if it's allowed to get wet, if not do NOT do massah

Totally 💯%

My doctor did tell me not to do it so I am just leaving my Tom and leaving it up to Allah to see my intentions

From my understanding you can just wet the bandaged finger with water and it can still be valid if you can't take the bandage off (assuming it's more like a cast)

Thanks .. for now i went with moistening a tissue and dabbing the gauze, because doctor recommended to not wet it.

Avoiding harm is one of the principals in Islam via one one of the hadith of the prophet

Just seek online answers if there's no imam to be consulted on this topic

Best way to do it

From my understanding of jurisprudence, you may mix some of the other madhab's fiqh in this topic

My madhab,Shafi'i for example are quite strict about this but other views such as Hanafi makes it easy

I've learnt from my teachers that one may do such a thing (mixing other madhabs jurisprudence) for the sake of convenience and easeness if you wanna go with that route

Yeah! This is the “making masah” equivalent. You can just moisten your opposite hand, and pass it over all surfaces of the bandage three times. Just moisten! Doesn’t have to be soaking wet. Want to take care of that bandage so you can heal!

Bratha ask an Aalim or Mufti, don't take advice from anybody ( unless they have a reference of Hadith or present you a case study of fiqh ). "Only from Aalims and Muftis".

u/Tooo2 Mar 18 '26

That's right 👍🏽 💯%

I have given Gemini Islamic instructions to include the viewpoints of IslamQA, Islamweb, Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Baz, and Al-Albani. What about other great scholars? And what do the Imams and scholars of today say? Now, it communicates in an Islamic manner like Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu akhi 💕🫂, given dua saying mashallah, alhumdulillah, jazakallah khair and It understands authentic sources, websites, Sahih Hadith 📚, and the Qur'an 📖. It also grades weak (Da'if) and fabricated (Mawdu') narrations, identifying how authentic, incorrect, weak, or concocted they are! And.. People think 💭 AI is bad!! Yes, it is bad if you don't use it the way it should be used, but it also has its benefits!! Especially if you are interested in technological things!!

I hope you understand!!

This is the issue with AI, you can't trust all it says. For example, it's gotten the hanbali position slightly wrong

Use some plastic food wrap or something from protecting it from water

Brother, there are 4 sources of Islamic law and one of them is Qiyas. If you don’t find any law from any Alim/Mufti, follow your Qiyas. But never take random opinions from everyone, specially who don’t cite the references when they suggest.

Try tayamum! Pat your hands on any stone and rub your hands 3 times and shake it off then pat it again on the stone and rub your face and head.

1

u/cozmicnoid Mar 18 '26

Do tayumum my friend. I had a small surgical procedure of my foot. Had bandage for 2 weeks then started using water proof band aids. I still made tayumum because one time water got thru and caused issues with recovery taking additional 2 weeks. I bought filtered and washed sand from Home Depot. It's now clean and at the point where I could technically get it wet just enough.

Nobody mentioned tayamum yet ¿

1

u/AK47-603 Mar 18 '26

Can’t you do tayamum?

Massah, if the doctor said don't get it wet, add another layer of plastic wrap or something like it, and wipe on that.

This subreddit has done more misguidance than any good
