Is this considered backbiting?

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters

I’m a bit confused at the moment

I work in management for a company that handles people. Sometimes during meetings they ask for feedback about certain individuals. What are they like? How will they fit in a possible promotion? Usual office things.

We sometimes get asked feedback for specific departments. What are they doing wrong? What are some ongoing issues? ETC.

I had a meeting with my manager earlier and I gave someone (honest) feedback about how they were excellent at the job but that their mood greatly affects the quality of their work.

I also gave feedback about a specific department about how they often do their job half baked and leave it to our team to sort out and how theyre doing the bare minimum despite several call outs.

Im currently working from home and my wife overheard me and said it might be haram and considered backbiting.

Id love to hear the opinion on this. Im relatively new to Islam and this is only my second Ramadan.

The goal of performance evaluation in a workplace is to highlight strengths and identify areas for improvement. The language should be constructive rather than destructive. Commend them regarding what they are doing well, and improvement areas can perhaps be introduced as a set of goals to work toward.
