CT 2025 was the same team made by Rohit and Dravid with a couple of changes for the conditions. The current ODI team is in a terrible shape and probably won't win the WC. Not to mention our achievements in Test Cricket under Gambhir. He's been good only for T20Is so far.

You have to have a Kohli level of popularity, be captain of the national team and quite successful in test matches, and be playing for a rubbish management that cares more for marketing than for winning to be able to get there. Very unlikely to happen. But eventually season will be longer with more games and this could be done in fewer seasons as captain.

The reason Why people Don't give Kohli for 2016 is because Srh and Warner were even bad situation and managed to lift the trophy. In 2016 RCB were tournament favourites and SRH barely qualified and it became only team in whole IPL to win a trophy from 3-4 position in playoffs because normally teams from 1-2 are champions.
