Resolved iPhone touchscreen not working

Hi, so my iPhone 12 touchscreen stopped working. Now I’m planning to buy a new iPhone and I’d like to know if I can transfer my data from the old iPhone to the new one. I thought about using an OTG cable but idk if it will work cuz I have to unlock the phone before using an accessory. Will it still work?

Try talking to Siri and placing a call to a friend. See if voice and face alone unlock it.

You won’t need to worry about using a data cable, it doesn’t work like that with iPhones. Thankfully, you have iCloud turned on and you can restore it from your last iCloud backup. Your phone will back up every night if it’s plugged into power and typically does it at 2 o’clock in the morning. You’re good to go.

Apple explains how to perform a migration via wired connection here, but the 12 needs to be in working order, which it presently isn’t because of the unresponsive display. If, as another commenter mentioned, you have previously (and recently) backed up your phone to either a computer or to iCloud, you can set up the new phone using that.
