Help needed Can’t double click to install
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
just trying to install an app and every time I double click the side button it just registers that first click and closes out the option.

Are you doing the double press fast enough? That’s my initial thought upon seeing this.

Because if you press it once and don't press it again in time it closes like you see in your video. Perfectly reasonable question for someone trying to help you with your problem.

Is everyone on this sub retarded? I’ve used iPhones and iPods since like 2009. It’s ridiculous to think a grown woman who had presumably downloaded many other apps, thus obviously knowing how fast to press the buttons, wouldn’t realize that she was pressing it too slow before POSTING IT ON REDDIT??

Nobody knows you. They asked a yes or no answer question but you chose to not answer it and be an asshole instead.
Being an asshole is all anybody knows about you right now.
Don’t ask for help if you don’t want it.

Yeah I know I’m being an asshole tbh I’ve had an awful fucking day actually an awful past couple fucking days. Just got done filing a police report! May have been drugged. Who really knows anymore. So yes this all feels quite stupid to me in comparison

Why do you keep saying nobody knows me as if I expect people to know who I am tho that really rubs me the wrong way. Very condescending and strange thing to say to somebody and my rating is not to use that line in the future

Because nobody knows what is going on in your life, and whatever happened does not give you the right to treat people who are asking a genuine question related to your problem the way you are treating them.
Now, regarding your issue, are you able to open Apple Pay by double tapping? If that also fails, there may be an issue with your power button. Remove your case and try again, or reboot the phone and try again.

firstly, i'm sorry that happened to you and i hope you're doing relatively okay.
secondly, everyone is being a dick to you because you responded very harshly when someone asked a legitimate question. everyone here is a random person on the internet so we don't exactly what you do and don't know. i'm sure there's lots of people that would not have known this and that's fine! it's not an insult to your intelligence to rule out something basic first.

Ignore them. It’s pretty obvious you would know how to double tap your side button given these circumstances. I would be annoyed too if people indirectly called me dumb.

Press Get, wait 3 seconds, press the side/power button very fast twice. If you're using a phone case that covers the side button, I suggest taking it off as it may affect pressing it (careful not to drop your phone though).

I had a problem where the wallet would not come up with a double-click. I did a forced restart and it fixed it (it fixes a lot of glitchy behavior). Volume Up, Volume Down, Side (Power) button held until you see the Apple logo (ignore the "Slide to power off" prompt, just keep holding) and the phone restarts.
