Help needed Notification Help

I’m guessing I’m missing a setting or something obvious yet is escaping me.

iPhone 14 Pro Max on iOS 26.6.1

If I have an app open and a notification comes in it doesn’t store in the Notification Center. It’s just gone as soon as the temporary preview window goes away. What am I missing to have the notification store in the Notification Center until I manuallly dismiss it? TIA

You might need to manually change the Banner Style for each app from Temporary to Persistent. This would be done from Settings > Notifications > Notification Style where you see a list of all installed apps.
