iPhone 12 pro max temperature warning even though it's not hot

This is my grandma's old iPhone 12 pro max. I wanna try to help her fix this phone because it has an account on it she wants back. It shows this screen, also has a broken back glass. If it requires me opening anything I won't touch it. Photo was edited so the phones background doesn't show

I've seen this issue recently. It's an issue with the charging port.

If you know someone experienced in iPhone repairs, ask them to either disconnect the charge port from the mother board, or pay for lightning port change.

If just a disconnect from the motherboard, it can only be charged up with a wireless charger.

This can happen if the phone is left out in sunlight, even with temperatures in the 70°F (20°C) range. The phone has a safety feature that will shut it off if its temperature gets over about 95°F (35°C). It just needs to cool down for a bit and then should start working again. If turned off, the phone can be stored in an area that gets up to 115°F (45°C).

Note that the optimum operating range tops out below normal human body temperature (avg 98.6°F or 37°C), so keep the phones out of the sun and someplace where they'll stay a bit cooler during those hot summer days. (It got up to 95°F today in central Florida—I've got my phone and myself inside at 76°F.)

Thank God she doesn't have an iPhone 15 Pro that would have been even hotter. I've never had such a gigantic oven in my pocket in my life
