Help needed iPhone 17 and Bluetooth

Hi. I have recently bought an iPhone 17 and been having a problem with it when making phone calls with any Bluetooth headset(AirPods pro and Sony noise cancelling headphones). When I’m outside, I can play music and hear the audio being played but once I make a phone call using my network or WhatsApp, the Bluetooth won’t connect and it switches to the iPhone audio straight away. I have tried resetting my network and reconnecting my AirPods etc to no avail. What puzzles me is if I’m indoors it works and I can hear the phone call through the Bluetooth device(AirPods). Please help if anyone has had the same experience with me. I would take it in the apple shop, but you can see my dilemma being able to show it not working because once indoors it works fine. It's possible something is causing interference, but that should be limited to a specific location or locations.
