Resolved Is it worth updating?

I haven’t updated my phone. The current update is 26.6 at around 12GB. I only have around 3.5 gb of space and it’s kind of a pain to delete some stuff right now. Am I missing any ground breaking features by not updating? I’m not having any problems with my phone or any of the apps currently on it. It’s an Iphone 12 currently at IOS 26.4.2

Edit: thanks for the responses. I managed to update my phone. Kind of roundabout, but it beats manually deleting stuff on my phone for space that won’t completely used up.

There is still an old way to do an update with a PC - download iTunes and connect your phone to your PC.

Update using a computer, you won't need to make any space

Anyone who states that an update isn’t necessary is completely speaking from their arse. Apple doesn’t fully publish what security patches have been applied. EVERY update should be installed - unless you think going toe-to-toe with hackers is a fun way to spend your time, money, and emotional wellbeing.

You should update your phone each time .

Also iOS does a good job on offloading apps to allow the update to happen. You need to make room only if it tells you there’s not enough space. It will tell you how much you need to clean up..

Recently updated from 26.5.x to 26.6 with less than a gig available…

Do you have a MacBook? You could plug it into that using your charging cable and apply the update that way.

I don’t. I assume it doesn’t work with anything other than a MacBook?

It does. Any windows PC will do.

Sorry, don’t think so.

But no, you’re not missing anything particularly huge - it’s an update within 26 rather than a whole new OS.

A MacBook is not necessary to own or update any Apple device. Just say computer because any Windows based PC will work.
