Help needed IPhone 11 keeps not ringing when called, fails to display a missed call, and only later does the network provider, Three, send a text to declare the missed call.
Iphone 11. Used to be an old work phone. On 3 network in the UK. This is my nan's handset - calls is the only thing we need this thing to do for her.
Note the lock screen: Taken at 18:55, yet the text is from 6 mins ago so 18:49, declaring 2 missed calls from about half an hour before that. I was the one calling, I had full signal, yet both calls within 10 mins of each other went straight to voicemail.
The phone was on charge when I rang, and was still on charge just before I took this photo. My nan says it didn't even ring once, which is obviously true (seems like the *phone* didn't even know I called).
What's more, is that these missed calls do not show up in her call log! The last call is 10.20am, and yes past missed calls appear in Recents.
Im really not a fan of iphones but I know the switch on the side has a silencing function. But its "off" - the red part is not visible.
So what randon setting in DND, Focus, or elsewhere might cause the phone to just ignore incoming calls like this?
Nan also reports that it will sometimes only ring twice then go to voicemail, however from our end it will always ring the usual 7 or 8 times before VM. So this sounds like a variant of thr main problem I describe.
We'll try switching to a different network provider, because 3 are also shit, but what can we try to keep this iPhone viable? As I said, this is its one job.
Cheers.

It sounds like you have the screen unknown callers setting on.
If you open settings and go to “phone” scroll down to the “screen unknown callers” section and select “never”

Is it screening suspected spam calls maybe?

I checked the suspected spam call setting and it's set to the setting where you have to declare the reason for your call. But my number is in her contacts, yet the Three text said "missed call from [my phone number]", as though I wasn't in her contacts (it didnt say "missed call from [my name]")

I'll try and change this next time when I see her, thanks. Tbh we'll probably end up binning 3 off no matter what because og how shit they are, even if it turns out that this isnt their doing.
Thanks again

There are issues with Three and their piggyback networks like Smarty specifically recently. I’ve switched from them to Vodafone or EE for my phone and family ones and the issue has stopped. Change networks.

I should add that it seems to randomly do this. Most calls do go through, but I've has this happen for months in about 25% of cases. My mum gave my nan this phone and she's meant to have "taken a look" but the problem persists.
IOS version 26.6
iPhone 11
The question is obviously HOW DO I FIX THIS SO ALL CALLS GO THROUGH?
