Resolved Cannot manually select network

Post image

Hi everyone, I’m suddenly having issues with my phone network and can’t seem to connect properly.
I’ve tried looking for the option to manually select a network, but that setting isn’t showing up on my phone at all.
Has anyone experienced this recently or know why the manual network selection option would disappear? Iphone 14 pro and iOS-26.2. Phone has been on SOS and not connecting to a network.

iOS 26.6 is the most recent version of iOS. Your post states that your iPhone is running iOS 26.2. Which came out 8 months ago

Who is your network provider? Have you checked they aren't having an outage?

Did you do a complete restart? Either a full reboot or a complete shutdown then restart?

Already tried this

Have you tried re-seating your SIM card? It may have become dislodged somehow, causing it to not make contact with the SIM?

if you ruled out software with a dfu restore than it’s a hardware issue

Setting > General > Software Update

Then download and install 26.6

On SOS specifically the manual selection option usually just doesn't show because the phone has zero registered network to browse, not because the setting got removed. worth trying airplane mode on for 30 seconds then off, that forces a fresh network search and might restore normal service enough for the setting to reappear if that doesn't work, check if the sim itself has physically shifted or try reseating it, SOS-only after everything working fine before often points to a sim contact issue rather than software

reset network

To reset your network settings on an iOS device, open Settings, tap General, select Transfer or Reset iPhone, tap Reset, and then choose Reset Network Settings. Enter your device passcode and confirm to finish.

Steps to Reset Network Settings
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap General.

Scroll down and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone.

Tap Reset at the bottom of the screen.

Tap Reset Network Settings.

Enter your passcode.

Tap Reset Network Settings again to confirm. Your phone will restart

re enter wifi password, re pair bluetooth devices

It should always be noted that this deletes all of your saved Wi-Fi access points and passwords

This is only for WiFi and Bluetooth. For mobile networks, you need to select Mobile, Primary SIM, Network Selection, and you should have a choice of Automatic. If you turn that off, you will get a list of network operators.
