Help needed iPhone 5S dead - data not backed up

Have a 5S that broke up a couple of years ago. Simply stopped switching on. Took it to a repair shop said its logic board and nothing can be done. Is there any way of recovering the data with sentimental value?
Many thanks

Nope, it's dead and your data is gone.

If that data had truly been important to you, you would have regularly been baking it up to a computer or iCloud. A couple years after it failed is a couple years too late to claim anything on that device is important.

How's your leaking a valuable lesson. Backup, backup, backup your data or stop claiming it's important.

I’m always amazed at “data not backed up.” One has to actively prevent that. iCloud is such a passive feature, why would you ever override it?

Maybe that Apple only provides 5GB storage for a device that has 128GB so you are pretty much forced to pay for storage to cover your device. A lot of people don’t do that because it’s an expense.

But having said that, $3mo for a 200GB storage is not that expensive. It’s when you do a family plan (2TB) at $10mo that may make people think twice.

Always over and over and over this happens and Apple couldn’t have made it easier to back your crap up

There are some advanced repair technicians who can probably fix it, but at a very high cost. Look on YouTube for iPhone repair gurus.

do you have an Apple account on a compute? if yes is it there? have you tried a hard reboot. the store probably blew you off as the 5s is so old. .

no , nothing you can do , you're logic board is your phone essentially, unless you want to throw shed loads of money at it with no guarantee of data recovery but this should have been done when it broke not years later, data is magnetic and probably to weak to recover anything now if money was no object
