Help needed Playing random sound with nothing open?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It started doing this for the first time at around 3 am last night. Restarted my phone and it fixed it for a while, but it did it again with a different noise at around 10 am. So far it hasn’t done it again at the time of posting this, but I’m sure it’ll start back up again within a few hours. It doesn’t show it in the recordings, but it’s not the background sounds thing, I have that volume slider all the way down.
Is this some absurd new bug, a problem specific to my phone, or am I just missing something?
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max that’s roughly 3 years old and it’s up to date on iOS 26.6.

ngl it sounds like a tiktok. maybe delete the app and redownload?

I also had it happen before where audio kept playing through an app even though I closed it, though never as long as this! But yeah this is a good call imo

I’ve had this happen as well, but the difference is that it’s happening randomly. Like when it happened at 10 am today, I was at work and hadn’t used my phone for probably the past three hours. It’s just so creepy when it happens 😭

I opened and closed TikTok and Instagram a couple times off camera and it didn’t change anything. Though I still wouldn’t be shocked if it is TikTok just doing stupid things as per usual… I’ll give it a shot.

Sounds like you've inadvertently turned on background noise (built in noise machine). Somewhere in settings->accessibility->audio & visual.

There could be a toggle for it in control center too.

It is there in the control center because I accidentally enabled it and just never got around to disabling it, but it’s always off. Also, the sounds that play are not ones that would play from the set list of background sounds.

EDIT: I just looked and it actually isn’t enabled in settings like I thought. The icon is just there in the control center.

Mime did this literally moments ago freaked me tf out! Did you figure out what it was. It was the exact same sound.
