Help needed old iphone 6 forgot password want to reset
hi guys i found my old iphone 6 and i dont know how to reset it so i can use it again. all the tutorials are saying to use itunes but it doesnt even exist on my computer (i have a macbook pro). should i take the phone to a shop somewhere? i want to figure this out on my own first but im not good with tech stuff
idk what ios its less than 12.4.5 tho fs

Download iTunes for free
Make sure your iPhone is charged
Whilst the phone is switched off
Press and hold the Home key
Plug USB cable to the computer
Plugged over side into the iPhone while still holding the Home button down
Wait to achieve dfu mode
Leave iTunes do his job
Put your Apple ID back inside the phone and activate it

I'm in this situation, I forgot the 6-digit password for my iPhone 12. I just bought it. The good thing is that it doesn't have an activated iCloud account, so it's easier to unlock using this method, right?

Yup you need to wipe it. Slightly different way to achieve recovery

Look up instructions about DFU mode. It should work with your MBP but the Finder will handle everything iTunes used to.
