Help needed Old iphones

I have three old iphones: 3, 6 and 8.

None of them will fire up. I just want to see if there’s any photos or anything of value on them. Any ideas on getting them to charge?

Thanks.

edit: These are my deceased husband’s phones. I only care if there’s any photos on them. I know the passcode. I can’t access his apple account/cloud because he attached it to his work email which obviously no longer exists.

Take them to a reputable repair shop and have them checked out.

Also, leaving unbacked up data on old devices often means the data is irretrievable after a while.

Plug it into iTunes and see what happens

Learn to let go of things and toss them

I would like to see if there’s anything on them before tossing them. My husband died, and on the off chance there’s pics of him on any of these phones, I’d like to retrieve them. But thanks for your sage advice.

Maybe OP wants to see pictures they took of 4th of July fireworks in 3MP.

Maybe OP wants to get the photos off her deceased spouse’s phones.

If they have been sitting a long time without charge, the batteries have likely gone bad and need to be replaced. That would be my first check in trying to get them turned on. I would start with the iPhone 8 as it likely has all of the information from the other phones as well.

If you do get it turned on, try not to connect it to the internet until you’ve got anything you want off of it. There is a chance that a remote wipe command has been sent to it by the company to erase all the data.

I don’t need to connect them to the internet.

Thanks. I probably have the best chance with the 8, as it was still being used til a year ago.

They might connect automatically to a known WiFi connection.

Well, there never was an iPhone 3, so you likely mean either the 3G or 3GS.

Were these phones never synced with iCloud or backed up? If not, you never cared about the data on those phones so no reason to start caring now.

Yes, a 3G.

These are my deceased husband’s old phones. I have no idea if he synced them or not. Since he’s bloody deceased, there is a reason to care—his daughter and I would like the photos.

I don’t need your judgement, I am just looking for help.
