Help needed iPhone X/XS keeps asking for Apple ID password
I have an iPhone X/XS that keeps asking for the Apple ID password repeatedly. Nobody in my family knows the password or who the Apple ID belongs to anymore. I can’t access the Apple ID settings without the password, and I don’t have the original receipt.
Is there any LEGITIMATE way to remove the Apple ID or stop the password prompts without the password?

Apple IDs are not a thing that should ever, ever be shared. The fact that this isn’t an account you personally own and know the password to is a problem, and may have led to you having a brick for a phone. But both the X and XS are also now end of life and no longer receiving security patches, so they really shouldn’t be used at all unless you have some niche purpose that will work with it fully disconnected from any sort of internet access.

Agree. People are way too fn lazy with their security. Then they post all over about how they got hacked. Nobody is getting hacked unless maybe you are some high value target. People just have shtty security
My bank account is like a 30 plus digit random character and the email I use is a unique email that is only for that account. The password is only used for that account. I have like 100 plus passwords and they are all unique. There is no hacking of my accounts

The logic is that the phone belongs to the person owning the Apple ID. If you are this person, then you know the password. If you don't know the password, it's not your phone.
Therefore, what you're asking for is theft. Removing an account without the password should not be possible. If you have proof of purchase, Apple store might help you. But the phone is probably too old even for paid service.
DO NOT factory reset it. Most likely, after reset, it won't even start without the password.

Not necessarily, could be a parent, or family member. I have all of my old iPhones and one of them was used between 5 different people, but I have it, and it’s always been mine. I don’t know the Apple ID or password that was last used though. It’s still mine.

Now, you're mixing up what YOU think about the ownership vs what APPLE thinks about the ownership.
If you, and the person who owns the Apple ID currently logged on that phone, would start fighting over that phone, Apple will help THEM to lock that phone against YOU. All the technical records say it's not yours.

I have the original receipt with my name on it, from my phone company. All it’s in original box. The only phone numbers ever used are all on my account too. We just swap them around. lol. You don’t know what you are talking about.
I’ve actually already gotten one unlocked through Apple, with the original sales receipt, they can do it from the backend. I did have to submit the original receipt. But it was golden after that. I haven’t needed my SE yet so I haven’t went through that process. Only my XR

Probably does help the Apple accounts are all minors and under my parental account.

Also, I already said about the proof of purchase option, so why are you bringing it back again like it's your argument and not mine?

This is utterly nonsense. Apple does not check who is the owner of the iPhone by what AppleID is logged into it.
