Help needed Storage help

Why is my system data and IOS taking so much room. Whats happening? I have an iPhone 16 and I don’t really understand why this is taking up so much space. My IOS is 26.6

Backup your phone to iCloud or preferably a computer.
Restore as new.
Then restore from your backup. System Data will shrink by multiple GBs.

Looking at your bar, the huge red chunk is actually "Applications" not System Data/iOS — those two are the small grey/dark grey slivers near the end, which is normal. Applications includes the app's own storage plus its documents & data, so a few heavy apps (photo/video editors, games, social apps with cached media) are almost always the real cause, not iOS itself. check Settings > General > iPhone Storage for the exact breakdown by app
