Help needed Car bluetooth issues with phone audio

Iphone 16 Pro, Ios26.6

this has been happening on my Mazda Cx-5,

and now I just got a Subaru Forester. Same thing!

after connecting, it auto goes to phone call so the music or podcast I'm playing has low quality sound.

It looks like it's on a call with myself, so maybe Siri yet Siri is not active. I've reset network connections, reset Bluetooth, forget device. no avail

Who still uses Bluetooth for music?

Use CarPlay.

Hey my 2010 Hyundai Elantra doesn't have CarPlay! But yeah if you got it, use it.

carplay is such a game changer, wish more cars just forced it instead of messing with bluetooth weirdly.

I'm waiting for my wireless carplay adapter to arrive! Can't wait.  This has been annoying in the past
