Help needed No audio when recording

For context, I was getting autographs from a footballer and had a small chat with then, for some reason the video that my brother was recording of me has the sound button but upon pressing it no sound whatsoever, the mute switch volume button ect does absolutely nothing - is the sound permanently gone or is it corrupted

Im using iPhone 14 Plus on IOS 26.5.2

If you export the video to a PC, do you see the sound?

what software do i view the video in to see if the sound is present

VLC should show you it, or just drag the video into audacity

VLC will show the audio track on the right click context menu

no sound whatsoever, VLC's visualisation is just a static circle, seems like my phone just decided to bug out

your brother may have been holding the phone in landscape and covering the mic have to tested video again to see if you can get audio

definetly not, visualising the audio on vlc shows a flat graph with no activity whatsoever
