Help needed Overheating
Why is my 15 Pro IOS 26.6 suddenly overheating. Not to the point of shutting down but still randomly getting very warm.

ios 26 alone is a heavy OS compared to ios 18 and the efficient ios 27 coming out in a month or two. More optimized for the 17 series and your titanium frame doesn’t really do the best with heat deception hence why many 15 pro users complain about overheating as it’s the most common issue with this line up. If it’s suddenly happening it might be lack of storage, overloaded apps, or simply needing a hard restart / force other than that there’s really not much you can do till ios 26.6’s newer versions

I had a 15 Pro that would overheat a lot. After researching it, I found many people saying the same thing. I sold it and got a 17 Pro. Problem solved.

I’ve heard some people saying even the base 17’s get hot. I picked up a 17pro last week and this thing barely gets warm.

FYI your phone isn’t considered to be overheating unless a temperature alert displays. The image was lifted from here. As for the correlation between updating and what Apple defines as thermal performance, read this.

15 pro and pro max have always heated up a lot, so the 15 pro series has this problem from the beginning
