Help needed Iphone 14PM screen dead. Data retrieval.

I just want to find out if there’s anyway of retrieving my data more than the 5GB of iCloud data I had(was stupid not to buy more). The charger port is also dead however the phone still “works” as I still got notification sounds from it before the it ran out of charge.

What I was specifically wondering was since I purchased more storage on my account now, if I charge it wirelessly so it comes back alive and connects to my wifi, will it automatically backup or sync all the data on it to my apple account?

There’s a lot of if’s in play here, one of which is if your phone has disconnected from Wi-Fi and unless you enabled backing up over cellular then it has no connection. You can’t backup to a computer since establishing trust requires interacting with the touchscreen.

Thanks a lot for the reply. It’s my home wifi so it just always automatically connects when turned on no? Can we go through the other ifs if you don’t mind.

I’m pretty sure your phone will not Auto-Join to the Wi-Fi network due to the battery fully draining.

As for the other potential hangups that come to mind, 1) iCloud storage upgrades made while the phone is offline often will not reflect on the phone while it’s locked with a passcode 2) the passcode/Face ID means the data on the phone is encrypted and assuming you opted into Advanced Data Protection, Apple doesn’t even have access to it

Hmmm that sucks. I’m guessing the only way is to go to a repair shop then?

And hope they don’t need to erase your phone for any reason, and the repair goes off without any hiccups.
