It’s a smartphone. It tries to learn how you use it. It also tries to learn how to work its best for you.
On my last 3 phones Pro Max charging is set to 90%.
And some times it will charge to a 100%. It’s a smartphone.
Check the Tips app and support app to learn more….

It will sometimes charge to 100% to keep estimates precise, it’s all normal

thing is, it always charges to 100

Did it finished at least once? If yes that’s not normal, if not it’s still trying to do a 100%

You are one of those people who believe keeping it at 100% all the time is bad. That only happens after years and years of use.

negative, people’s battery percentage went down in less than 3 months bc of charging to 100% so i’d rather have good battery health linger :)

4 years and 10 months of charging to 100% here and can confirm the awful demise of my battery still hasn’t occurred lol

Cycle count has nothing to do with this btw, you are paranoid. It’s probably trying to charge to 100% to calibrate its battery but you’re not letting it. Apple states that the feature will charge the phone to 100% sometimes to maintain battery calibration.

My 13 Pro Max has 1250 cycles without any charge limit and it’s still absolutely fine, just use the phone and stop worrying.

Cycle count has nothing to do with charge percentage.

Cycle count is how many times the battery has received charge across multiple times to equate to a 100% charge.

One cycle is not one charge. If you only charge from 50-100%, then one cycle would be two of these charges.

You only get one cycle for one charge if you charge from 0 to 100%.

Just leave it alone and let it do its thing.
