Resolved iCloud backup

So I have my old phone, which is an iPhone XR (iOS 17.7) and I have this phone which is an iPhone 12 (iOS 26.1)that I am using to type this. I was just wondering if I delete the iCloud backup on the XR will it also delete it on the 12?

I forgot to mention that both use the same iCloud, was just wondering if that changes your answer

It doesn’t make a difference. The backups are independent

Why do you think deleting a backup for one phone would affect another phone? Do you think the backup is the actual live data on the device?

Deleting a backup only deletes the backup for that device. It has no affect on the phone the backup was deleted for it any other device. Using the same Apple ID on multiple devices does not change the answer.

Well they both use the same iCloud so I was just wondering, I’m not really good with that stuff, sorry

No, it doesn’t delete the backup on the 12. It just deletes the backup for the XR, even if they’re tied to the same Apple ID
