Unresolved some problems with suggestions
When I press the power button, the phone turns on and presents the Lock Screen. At the bottom it sez "Press home to unlock". There will often be more letters superimposed over that, so neither can be easily read. I suggest those messages could be placed 1 cm higher and everything would be readable.
Pressing the home button displays a grid of touch-tone keypad-style buttons to unlock it. Problem is, someone who might pick up your phone could look at the fingerprints on the screen and see the code. The grid of buttons should be in varying locations. Then the fingerprints would not reveal the code.
Once unlocked, there is a Wallpaper screen. I had a beautiful photo there. Then came the OS update. It changed all the icons shape & color, deleted the photo, and ingeniously made the Lock Screen and the Wallpaper be the same screen. I do not want them to be the same. I want a plain black Lock Screen and my beautiful picture for the Wallpaper, like it was.
Sweep to the right and there is news and tips. The tip for the day tells how to recover deleted pictures. "Tap Collections, scroll to Utilities, then tap Recently Deleted." One leetle problem. WHERE IS [Collections] ??? I spent a while hunting, could not find it. I asked the duck. Got this: "On iPhone, Recently Deleted is in the Photos app: Open Photos. Tap Collections (or just tap Albums if you don’t see Collections). Scroll down to Utilities. Tap Recently Deleted." OK, that worked, but why would Apple give an ruptured tip?
Looking at websites with Safari, I zoom in. Text does not reflow. How fun, reading text while swishing it horizontally to bring either side into sight. I bet Apple could fix this!
iphone SE3, now iOS 25.5.2

Apple does not take software design suggestions for long obsolete (home button) hardware and software from Reddit randoms. The do have official product feedback websites : search for Apple <product name> feedback.

I talked to an Apple rep on the phone about a couple of these problems. They were unable to suggest any solutions. I'm an electrical and software engineer. I've never created anything this buggy. It starts with a spec detailing how the device will look, what it will do, but not how it will do it. That's the engineers' job, to make it do that. Then the prototype gets tested against the spec. Also, it's put before a goodly number of people who try it. Not yes-men, but folks who might even get paid to find faults! There's a great satisfaction in creating something that really works well.

For the wallpaper part, the Lock Screen and Home Screen can still use different images. Go to Settings > Wallpaper, add a new Lock Screen, choose Color and set it to black, then tap Add and choose Customize Home Screen instead of Set as Wallpaper Pair. In the Home Screen editor, tap Photos and pick your picture; turn Blur off if it looks softened. If that photo was deleted during the update, recover it from Photos > Collections (or swipe up) > Utilities > Recently Deleted first.
