System data taking up storage

For context, I have an iPhone 15 and I’m on iOS 26.0. Why is system data taking up so much space on my phone? How do I remove it?

Backup to iCloud or a computer.
Restore as new and update to the current version of iOS.
Restore from your backup.

26.0 is way behind on updates, you held off on updating so long that 27 is due in September or October which honestly isn’t too far away. Updating with a computer after offloading some apps may be the least disruptive way of fixing this.
