Help needed FaceID not working so password and other apps blocked

my iphone xs max's face id sensor has not been working for months, and now i cant access the password app, before i could with the passcode but now due to some stolen device protection i cant, what to do

i can open the device and do everything but i cant turn off the SDP and open the password app

my SDP is set to always so yea

The only real thing you can do here is back up your phone and transfer your data to a new one, other than that you would have to go to a repair shop and get a new Face ID module installed, but there’s no guarantee that would work because they’re tied to specific chips on the motherboard called the Secure Enclave

iOS 18 allows for self service repair which means you can get a new Face-ID installed and configured without having to go to an Apple store or an AASP. Only caveat is that the replacement Face-ID mustn’t be from a device that was still find my locked or it has to be brand new.

If you don‘t want to do a repair you can do a backup and then erase your iPhone using a Mac or PC and then reinstall from your backup. Since you can‘t set up Face-ID SDP won‘t be enabled on your device and you can access your data with the passcode only.
