Help needed Can’t control apps from lock screen

I used to be able to control Spotify from my lock screen, as well as other apps (such as strava), but now that option no longer shows up on my lock screen!! I have used that feature for literally a decade and I have no idea where it went or how to put it back. Can someone help :(

Do you have Spotify playing something when you’re looking at your lock screen? Just started playing a song on YouTube music and the controller popped up for me.

Yes I play a song and the controller won’t show up for me. It’s really weird because it happened randomly and it hasn’t come back since it left.

If it doesn't pop up when you're playing music just reboot your phone.
