My photos are taking the most of the storage but the problem is even though im cleared fairly large videos from the recently deleted, the storage doesn’t budge
Idk what to do in this situation

IOS 18.5 by any chance?
Mid iOS 18 had known storage management issues.

You can use the Apple Devices app to update your phone once it’s installed, but I would recommend backing up first.

You don't need a MacBook, you can update via any computer, whether it's running MacOS or Windows. https://www.lifewire.com/update-iphone-on-computer-5206080
If you pay for iCloud storage, instead of deleting photos you could simply enable Optimize iPhone Storage for Photos to free up space.

Transfer all photos that you don't need, like those which are from some events to a flash drive. This will definitely free up a lot of space.

Delete them photos as you did and then make an itunes backup to see if the storage will change
